GIS data plays an important role in many civil engineering projects. Sometimes it's used to conduct a due diligence study, other times for vicinity mapping around a project. However you use GIS data in your projects, there's a good chance the geometry alone isn't enough for what you need to accomplish. Instead, you need to label the geometry too.
Using conventional methods, this labeling exercise can be time-consuming. Which begs to question, how can we approach this in a more efficient way?
In the following video, I take you through how the AutoCAD Map 3D toolset can be leveraged to do just that.
As demonstrated in the above video, to label GIS data as MTEXT you must:
- Connect to GIS data as an FDO object.
- Leverage the FDO Object Styling to compose a label.
- Use Map 3D to convert the labels from Map 3D labels to AutoCAD MTEXT.
