Es wäre sehr hilfreich wenn man bei den Suchabfragen im Projektexplorer Schaltflächen zum beeinflussen der Darstellung der gewählten Teile hätte. So könnte man entsprechend der Einstellung per Schaltfläche aus mehreren Kriterien der Suchabfragen die Teile wie folgt darstellen: 1) Die Summe aller gewählten Teile / Suchabfragen darstellen (jetzige Funktionsweise). 2) Die Schnittmenge von Teilen / Suchabfragen darstellen (extrem wichtig). 3) Die Differenz aus Teilmengen / Suchabfragen darstellen. Gerade für Stichpunkt 2) ergäbe sich eine erhebliche Vereinfachung durch eine Reduzierung von mehreren Schritten der Ansichts- und Darstellungseigenschaften.       It would be very helpful if one had in the search queries in the project explorer buttons to influence the representation of the selected parts. Thus, according to the setting by button from several criteria of the search queries, the parts could be represented as follows: 1) Display the sum of all selected parts / search queries (current mode of operation). 2) Display the intersection of parts / search queries (extremely important). 3) Display the difference from subpages / search queries. Is it possible to create a tool that will work like view base to cut views thru the advance steel model to create views vs. using the sheet set up Advance steel offers.  I have used View base with Cadworx and made the views with solid and hidden lines I needed for the project using layers to control what I wanted to see.  I like the model views advance steel creates, maybe some how it could be used to import into a sheet view similar to what view base does and still be able to use autocad commands to annotate the sheets. I have used other lisp routines in the past to get 3d cuts from the models.  Viewbase gives a good look but could use an upgrade as well.  The sheet set up with advance steel need to be user friendly if we continue to use this option. Even needs options of modify the views if need and possible layer control for the construction drawings I need to produce instead of having to try and program a view.  I know you can modify the cut line on the view but sometimes the view has to be manually recreated to get the model change.   Is it possible to not keep the sheets in the 3d model file manager?    I don't mind to view set up that advance steel has to offer but for the work flow we produce it causes a slow learning curve.  I have set up the views to run for my current company and it seems to run for the most part good, but we still have to add dims, grating hatch, etc to the sheet.  One problem I had was when I created the sheets and was working in the model I had a fatal error. so i saved over the old model with the back up file.  When I opened my sheets it rev up everything when it wasn't suppose too. I have had problems with dims flipping out of place as well when you do an update.  Recently my model shift on the sheet for some reason and had to move it back, seem to have bugs with the sheet set up. Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, Ich lege immer auf jede Zusammenbauzeichnung eine Übersicht, auf der man sieht wo sich die Baugruppe im Bauwerk befindet. Das mache ich aus Mangel an Alternativen immer mit „Auswahl selektierter Teile“ und dann Ansicht erstellen. Das hat aber den Nachteil, wenn ich neue Teile einfüge ändert sich die Zeichnung nicht mit. (könnte man ja mal ändern) Darum erstelle ich diese Ansicht immer am Ende meiner Ausarbeitungen. Diese Ansicht brauche ich gleichzeitig auf mehreren Zeichnungen um die jeweilige Baugruppe im Bauwerk hervorzuheben. Es wäre schön wenn man im Dialog (siehe Bild 1) z.B. mit der Strg-Taste auch mehrere Zeichnungen auswählen könnte. Show More

Hello,   It will be a great time saver if we had intelligent dimensioning for holes and shear studs part of same bolt pattern.   Below is an example of a stringer having holes at stair treads, part of a macro.   If we click on the first point on the left at RD symbol, click on the first hole and rest holes are dimensioned automatically, a dimension chain is created automatically.   Same will work for shear studs pattern, we know how time consuming this can be.   And in general, if we start dimensioning 3 hole groups for example having 6 holes each-by clicking on the first hole of a pattern, rest to be added to the dimension chain automatically, and we will move to the next hole pattern, and after that to the next-with 4-5 clicks we will have 18 holes dimensioned.   This will be a great time saver, I hope it won't be hard to implement.   Have a great day.   Ilko Dimitrov       Show More

Eine Abarbeitung von den Einzelteilen bei den Prozessen (für die ET- Zeichnungen) sollte Schrittweise (und automatisch) nach der Walzform möglich sein. Z.B.: Erstens I- Profile, zweitens L- Profile, drittens U- Profile .....) Beim Prozess Einzelteile sollen die Details in Zeilen abgelegt werden können. Dies bedeutet, dass die Unterkante der Details entsprechend auf einer Linie angeordnet werden. Die vorhandenen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten funktionieren nicht erwartungsgerecht.     A designation with Pos No., etc., as well as with the material for the case when, e.g. No S235. So only if they are "deviant" materials. Processing of the individual parts in the processes (for the ET drawings) should be possible step by step (and automatically) according to the roll form. First: I-profiles, secondly L-profiles, third U-profiles .....) In the individual parts process, the details are to be stored in rows. Hi, I get a lot of complaining from workshop about making drawings with shortenings, because it makes verification of dimensions impossible for them. So i thought that great would be situation when after exploding a drawing with shortened details, on the model would be created a copy of all the details but without shortenings. Hi,     right now the templates of joints are stored in one table- after some time this table cannot be handled anymore. It would be better to save the templates using a tree structure that the user can define freely. Only the entries of the node selected should be visible in the table. Just a small thing that shows that there is finishing in AS missing: Both the beam and the plate split dialogs need to be improved. After you select the part to split you are asked to pick a line or select the points of a line or to choose a gap. The problem here is that the functions save a defined gap but do not show the gap value in the dialog. So if the user just enters, he may get a split with a gap of a value that he does not know about. The information of the gap value has to be provided in the first dialog, so that the user can decide if he wants to use it and enter or change it.   BR, Christian Blei     Show More

I am having issues setting depth position for my stay bracing. Apparently, it cannot be achieved on G/A drawings. The stays can be on either side of my frame, and on my G/A drawing I need to be able to call off proper stay location in regards to camera position (near side or far side).     I manually added the N/S F/S in the section view only to show the relation to the frame drawing.     This is the presentation strategy I have tried. Can this be elevated to a feature request? To make the camera the "main part" and then objects can be assigned a depth such as near side or far side.       Show More

Hello,   Per attached screen shot, example-column section, there are dimensions referenced to flange edges.   Common practice is never to dimension holes etc. to flange edges due to rolling tolerances.    Please remove all dimension requests to flange edges for all dwg styles, it will save us time and prevent errors in the shop.   This also applies for rolled edges for angles, NISD requirement is to dimension holes from base edge, not from free rolled edge of the angle.     Thank you,   Ilko Dimitrov Show More

The copy clip command seems to only work properly if my UCS is at World. If I move my UCS to an object and use the copy clip command it pastes the object far from the point from where I have selected. Using the copy clip command with non Advance steel objects works normally. When I paste the advance steel object it looks like it is referencing the world UCS not the current UCS. While I can paste then move and rotate the object to the correct position it is a lot easier to just manipulate the UCS and paste it where I want it. This is happening when I copy clip between DWGs and also in the same DWG. I use copy with basepoint daily and it would be great if this could be fixed somehow. Show More

In older versions of AS, the position of the compass in the model directly related to the compass symbol position in the drawing. This was good as you could position it exactly where you wanted.   Now for several versions, the compass symbol can only be positioned in one of the 4 corners of the drawing view. ...and if you move it, it gets moved back again on update.   Please either revert to the original functionality where the model position of the compass governs the position on drawings, OR keep any new position the user has moved the symbol to when updating the drawing. Please consider making the linear sloped dimension available within the automatic dimensioning of details.   An example of its use would be to show the diagonal dimension of a rectangular plate, from lower left corner to upper right corner. Currently the only dimensions that can be automated are x, y direction distances and we then need to add the diagonal in manually. NB I am aware that the UCS can be used to control the dimension direction, however this would then change all our other dimensions.   Regards, Jane Show More
