Hey there again .   Here is my request,   I have a client that while creating NC/DXF for plates, wanted the piece mark as well as the quantity, material to be listed in the file name. Hello Autodesk,     It is missing in Advance Steel still the possibility in BOM to summarise beam and plates separated after material into material list sum. Either a new variable must be created, or the much better idea would be if there was the possibility to be able to assemble the summary name from several variables, e.G. Hi,   the functionality of external BOM (Active Reports) and BOM on drawing(dwg) should be identical. Instead of using a formula that is very limited in its functionality and a scripting version whose result cannot be used as a token (opposed to a formula) VB Scripts similar to the scripts for Detail Styles and Processes should get used to create the data in the data field. The result of such a script should be accessible as a user token in addition to the exisitng tokens. This way most of what is asked for as improvements in BOMs in the idea station could get created. When I create NC files for my customers, they want certain items excluded since they cannot be processed by the steel supplier via NC files. e.g. folded beams folded plates gratings polybeams curved beams certain User profiles etc I can filter out most of these easily via the search tool but not polybeams (they are selected as part of beam objects). Please can these be added to the search tool as an object type or via some property under the beams tab in the search tool. I know in some cases I could filter via the part number but I need a more generic solution to filter out ANY polybeams in the model, since in other cases it may not be so easy to find and select them all via part numbers. Also I like to export and import my standard queries for use in all projects so again a more generic solution is required.   Furthermore, I also create a BOM list of items excluded from the NC output. While all the above (aside from Polybeams) can be excluded in a search using various "NOT" options, it is impossible to get the opposite selection set with a single search. e.g. I can select "NOT" (certain User Profile) to exclude it, and additionally "NOT" (certain material) etc ...but I cannot get a reverse of the selection by just un-ticking the "NOT" checkboxes.   ...so  an additional suggestion is to have a "Reverse" option that is applied to the entire Search and Mark Objects settings. i.e. effectively doing the same as the function "Reverse Selection" (AstM4CommSelectAllDscObjects_), but within the Search and Mark Objects tool.   ...or maybe a search and mark objects Wizard that will run several saved search settings in one click, with ability to PRE-set the options on the "General" tab between each stage - i.e. complete model/current marked set, new/add/subtract marking etc.   Then more complex search criteria can be saved and re-used easily for use with BOM extracts, Queries to display certain items etc.     Show More

Personally I would like to see a shipping list where I can retrieve the drawing number a given piece is on.  That is currently not possible, because different kinds of external BOM lists have different tokens they can retrieve.  Show More

Hello,   Very often we need to modify external lists after we export them as pdf files.   It will be very helpful if we can modify them straight from BOM Editor prior to exporting.   This will save time going to the BOM folder, file and modify using a pdf software.   Regards,   Ilko Dimitrov Show More

The possibility to add item numbers in the screw tab isn't working well. It costs way to much time and if the lenght of the screw changes, the item number is wrong. So it's a big source of trouble.   In the AstorBase file, at the site SetBolts und StetNutsBolts already exists a list called ItemNumber, but obviously isn't linked to anywhere. I have already tried a lot of possibilities and the german helpline also, but nobody know's what this list is good for.   A way to depose item numbers and get them automaticlly on bolt lists would be very helpful. If you create an assembling drawing with an external BOM list, you get the .rdf document in the details folder. But you can't manage them in the document manager.    It is possible to select the .rdf files, but there is always an error when trying to add them.   Handling the BOM lists out of the documentmanager would be a lot easier. I would love to use the "Standard Parts" for numbering but it is a requirement that everything match, including the coating.  We have many standard plates and such that we weld on then paint many different colors.  This makes them "different" than the standard parts.  An option to "Ignore Coating on Single Parts" for numbering would be fantastic and be the perfect fix for my problem. Hello everyone,   it would be useful in the beginning of the project to have the possibility to create a material list without having to number the model.   numbering may be appear far in the modeling, and just before makeing drawings. not in the begining of modelisation.   my workaround is to save my model, save as another name, make my numbering, tae the list and after delete the model with numbering It can be pissibly a source of error.   thanks Show More

From what I can tell the model role token is not listed under the field content in the main bom editor.     In in draŵing prototype page header this can be added an used.    Model is is important in the aspect of numbering, draŵing production, draŵing style content.   Seems strange it is not something in the bom that can be used to help identifie parts and assemblies.   can model role be added to bom system.     Show More

Is there a way to configure the saw cut or related BOM and/or list to report the total number of stock lengths required for similiar pcs? i.e., 10 pcs at 2 ft, 8 pcs at 1 ft and 2 pcs at 5ft 6in .... would require a stock length of 40 ft...... or maybe user input available stock length... 20 ft, 21ft, 24ft, 40 ft, etc..... Hi Devs, RDF files do get de-registered and cannot be registered again if we copy the project (back up for example).  Please implement this asap, we plan on creating rdf files in dwt templates, build a model, update already created rdf files, and produce external lists. Thank you.  Show More
