There should be a menu option to change the ruler/guides behavior to "canvas lock". Meaning: With this option turned on, when scaling/rotating the canvas, the ellipse should move and scale WITH the canvas. So it stays the same size and place relative to the drawing but not the ipad screen. When I position one of the guide tools to accomodate a certain form and then zoom into the drawing to work at some detail, I want the guide to be still in the right size and position for the desired form. (The adjustment of the ruler/guide tool itself would still work the same as now: with the 2finger-gestures inside the tool.)

Please include a tool to draw perpendicular lines at desired angle . by activating this tool user can only draw lines at 0 degree or 90 degree. If the the user changes the orthographic angle to 30 degree the user will be allowed to draw lines at 30 degree and 120 degree and so on... orthographic

Would it be possible to include an easier or more intuitive way to set a canvas texture? The Artrage software provides a way to set a canvas texture. No need to select a texture for the brush (though you can do that as well in the Artrage software). It would be awesome to set the canvas area texture and build on that with the brush texture. For example, a sketch that you plan to create would have the grainy graphite texture for the brush... the canvas you select could be 'artist paper'.

By drawing from reference you usually have your reference image somewhere on your screen. If you don't have a second screen, you have it somehow next to the Sketchbook Window or (and that's usual way) on a layer in Sketchbook. But this is pretty unhandy, cause you need your space on the layer for drawing/painting of course. I know you can do that better like some others do. My simple suggestion would be to provide a new layer type, let's say reference layer. This reference layers can be placed outside of the canvas but still being visible all the time. Extension: On top of this reference layer system you can safe and load a set of references as separate file. So this references are not part of the project file (PSD, tiff etc.). I would love to see something like in near future! Given recent issue - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/sketchbook-forum/windows-10-jpeg-file-quot-couldn-t-open-the-file-quot-heic-file/m-p/9436137 additional image file type(s) - HEIC specifically, should be integrated into Sketchbook and Autodesk Programs in general. In much the same way VLC (and other video players) had to integrate h265, MKV, etc... - EFFICIENTLY - over the past few years. And before anyone suggests that a HEIC file and JPEG are interchangable --- a RAR file is the "same" as a CBR or CBZ but not every program's coding understands that to be the case. And while I may change the file extension - that is only helpful if the program/OS combination I am using doesn't immediately ignore it.

I’d like to see a subscription or cloud based version with the ability to save files and brushes to my online account, and have this accessible or sync to all my devices (iOS, Windows). Software like Figma would be comparable. Thanks!

I am sure there a re plenty of individual posts that share some of bellow, but here is my list ans I hope you can pin this to the developers wall and keep as a reference. - Dark theme ( Just like Adobe software have shifted to dark themes, would like to see sketchbook boss version to have this feature). - Tabs (like autocad, photoshop, illustrator, etc,. to have tabs, so I can have multiple sketchbook files open at the same time, very frustrating, currently have both desktop and windows 10 app so can open max 2x files). - Grid (an absolute must! Currently I have a template shoved under each new file, it is not sharp when zoomed in because of the resolution, so an integrated grid, which lets us set increments in cm, mm, inches, kilometers etc!) - stackable (sticky) panels (just like in photoshop or any other software you can stack full height tabs, currently I try to expand layers to full height of the screen on my Mobile Studio Pro but it only goes so high, and leaves a section at the bottom where I shove Color and Brush pucks underneath. ) - speed, speed, speeeeeeeeeed!!! (the software has a lag when zooming in, or selecting tools, navigating through layers, crop, rotate, move etc,. needs to be improved, just like the apps for windows 10 or android have a buttery smooth experience.) - swatches (further improvements needed, currently there is a box of 4x6=24 (swatches) so a way to import or add, edit, group, delete needs to be implemented. - layer picker tool (very counterproductive is to be working on a file with dozens of layers and going through the list and trying to find on which layer does the sketch sit, by hitting eye (on/off) there should be a quick access tool (in the right click menu) that lets you jump in the layer by picking a line, texture, surface in the sketch - just like Photoshop when you right click it tells you have many layers overlap and you can select one.) - blending modes (a quicker way to go through blending modes in the layer stack, a preview as you choose which to use (like photoshop again example) or a custom shortcut. - right click round wheel (could we have more icons available? Currently there are 8, or maybe a section in preferences, where you can specify max 12 icons etc,. I feel I could do with couple of more tools in this handy wheel.) _________________________________________________________________________________________ Things I love and would appreciate if left intact or improved (speed) - stability of the software (I work a LOT on Sketchbook Pro and it has crashed only handful of times) - built in file recovery (Like how, if the software does crash, upon opening it nicely recovers the last file. Does display all the layers in one mess, but not an issue for me if I know that the file is preserved.) - Perspective tools (nailed it! So simple to use, the lock, hide, is fantastic experience to use these tools, I have seen grids on android and further improvements, do think grids should be a checkbox as can get distracting, simple lines are great) - The Puck (when holding space brings up this zoom/rotate puck, such an intuitive idea. At the beginning was struggling but now comes like second nature, great feature!) The smoothness and I guess "lightness" of the feel, when you navigate, use tools and responsiveness is a key to make this a great product. This covers it at the moment. I just want to let you know the features I think are crying out to be added in the new version of Sketchbook pro 2020, the real 2020, cant wait for this critical version to come out soon!!!

I would love to have Autosave on Autodesk Sketchbook. Too many times I've lost projects due to both computer problems and personal negligence. Implementing an optional autosave feature would save so many users suffering from lost time and work and wouldn't be too hard to add. I've seen another user even propose a custom timer or snooze button for the autosave feature if activated. Many programs I've used before have already solved this problem and in the artistic world it seems like a must have. The future is coming towards us rapidly and with more and more time constraints on work and personal life, we can't afford the random computer shut down cancelling out all of our progress. Even as I write this proposition I look down at the notification under the text box informing me that my words are autosaved and safe from falling into the void never to be seen again. Please consider this simple fix that would help Autodesk Sketch progress with the rest of its competitors

Hey! Just started using Sketchbook on my Surface, really impressed so far. There's only one or two features that would push it from a handy sketching tool when I'm on the go to a potential daily driver. The big one of these is that I want to be able to turn anti-aliasing off on the desktop version. I'm primarily a comics artist and a lot of my work at the inking & colouring stage involves being at up to 200-300% zoom and making sure lines connect and gaps are closed at the pixel level. This is kind of difficult when the anti-aliasing kicks in as soon as I zoom in, and my view becomes all blurry. I know the option is there in other versions of Sketchbook, and I can see the zoomed-in pixel version when I move the canvas, so this doesn't sound like a difficult feature to add, but this small change would be a huge push towards me using Sketchbook more and recommending it more.

I LOVE how easy it is to navigate the desktop Sketchbook's interface and the many advanced features, but the Flipbook is a tad disappointing. I understand that the software designed for animation is exclusive to Apple products, but for those who do not have an Apple set-up, the desktop Flipbook is the most Autodesk has to offer. I would like to encourage you to replace the current Flipbook layer system with the one used in the drawing setup. Personally, I prefer the idea of copying and pasting a background onto multiple frames if it would mean I could have as many layers as my pc can handle. I find I am not the only one in favor of a custom number of layers, as many other desktop version users have expressed the same. I already find Sketchbook's drawing setup to be the best art software in existence, And if the custom number of layers could be facilitated for the Flipbooks, I would find Autodesk's Sketchbook to be flawless. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. I apologize if I have sent multiple tickets, as I am not sure if the previous one sent due to internet issues I was having.

The iPad has implemented a number of multi-tasking features that make it natural to have two windows open at once. This gets the user used to the habit of having two things open. It would be absolutely excellent if Sketchbook on the iPad could open to sketches/files at once, maybe side-by-side. And it would be even better if one could edit either open file. This would allow people to work on two complementary art pieces or reference one file when adding upon a sketch on another. For architecture, one might want to view the whole building on one side and work on one specific room or floor on the other side.

Recently, Autodesk released a public Poll about Sketchbook's experience. I decided to put "User Interface" in the first spot, as I'm not very satisfied with the current User Interface where all the dialogs are floating everywhere. Used to work with GIMP or Inkscape, I've decided to sort of "design" a concept of how Sketchbook could look if Autodesk implemented the idea of docking all the dialogs in whatever position we want. So I've designed this UI with Inkscape and I'm hopping Autodesk to listen to this petition. If you're a user, please let me know what do you think about this idea. Here it is: A: This is where the Copic Marker Tab should be. It can be closed to make more room if the user decides to use the Color Wheel instead. B: This is where we can manage our brush sets and brush configuration. C: This is the dockable dialog, where instead of having a vertical strip with all the brushes, we have instead a horizontal grid with 10 or 8 brushes per line. This will allow the user to show more brushes at once. The tabs with numbers suggests each brush set. This will prevent the user from opening the brush library and pin the brush set the user wants to use. With the brush sets displayed all in numbered tabs, we can select whatever brush set we want to use by clicking at that tab. 😧 The layers can be either docked in the Copic Marker place, in that way, the user can see more layers at once. E: The color wheel should be JUST the color wheel. If possible, add tabs to show custom palette. Having dockable dialogs could improve the user's workflow by having everything on one side all times. This suggestion is aimed to display MORE tools and at the same time it occupies LESS room than having all the dialogs floating everywhere. This User Interface could prevent missing dialogs (such as the Brush Library not appearing sometimes) because it'll be docked at all times regardless if the user is using a hi dpi display or a small display.

adding some general features for the comic creators and making it easier for them to create comics on Sketchbook and by that way gain more users. Things like: A Comic Panel Editor. something similar to Polyline in Select menu on Sketchbook. And that way make a panel. With additional help to make straight lines, like small doted lines. And everything can turn white/dark or other color outside of it if needed. Like a manga, flashback scene. everything behind the panel is dark. something like that and gradient from white to dark or the pan line fades. The first panel should make canvas to the color you want. panel is white, background is dark, when i add a new panel in the dark unused area it goes white. You can only draw only inside the panel but it will still draw under the dark area, said panel lines can be moved similar to Transform. Maybe all that is overkill but there needs to be a decent tool to use for drawing panels in different shapes. Effect Editor, something in the line of Clip Studio. Speech Bubble Editor. either by using something like Ployline or the circle to make the area of the speech bubble. And when I say Polyline, I mean in a "I see you have marked that area, let me make a circle around that area". Then to drag the tail of the speech bubble to where you want it to go. With having the option of making it to another speech bubble so they are connected, make two or more steps to mouth or place where sound comes from so that the tail can curve and don't always go in a straight line. And the Tail goes over other text tail so it becomes obvious who is talking first. Then add the effect of the speech bubble. Like screaming, whispering, thinking and carefree etc. And finally A Better Text Editor. Let me mark a area I want the text in and then all them current option come up with type of text and color and size, but then I type, I type it to the area so I if it is good or decent instead of the current way. And when the top of the area end and I keep typing, it just jumps down a row and remain in the area. Instead of now when you type, check, make smaller words, add rows there and redo and repeat until you are happy with it. All these setting should be in someway very closely integrated, like the speech bubble and text. Those should be easy to Edit and change in the Layer menu. Like I move a bubble and the text follows with it, I change a speech bubble tail's direction so it overlaps with another tail and it doesn't go crazy or is over complicated. Maybe just a Separate Menu just for these, unrelated to the drawing layers unless linked or Rasterize. Having all these thing on the same layer menu and balancing it in groups or layers would be complicated. At least if every Bubble, tail, text, effect and panel gets their own layer. The bubble, tail and text could be very closely integrated with each other and possibly react to the Panels changing place or size. A lot of this is a programming nightmare and wishes and can never be achieved, I know that. But if the easy ones could get included or approved upon, that would be awesome. This is also the Idea/Feedback area so I am giving you it.

On my android tablet: My canvas keeps bouncing around while drawing, cause 2 finger (or my palm) accidentally touches the screen. It would be very helpful to lock the canvas (at current zoom factor and position) to prevent unintended 2 finger gesture control. Many thanks in advance 🙏

It’s been 2 years since this has been requested...please give us the ability to add custom brushes and the ability to make our own in sketchbook on mobile. Especially with how easily this is to do on procreate. Would make the creative process a lot easier and faster, and it can’t be that hard surely.

Hello, I would like to suggest being able to add in more layers when using the flipbook feature. This would make it easier for having a sketch layer and a lineart layer. I'm currently attempting to create a MAP (Multi Animator Project) piece, and I find it frustrating when trying to do the lineart of the animation.

At the moment moving your canvas or rotating it is far from intuitive... Yeah, one can hold the space bar and do stuff, but that just is not how we are used to work anymore... When you think of it: Everywhere there is: pinch to zoom in spread to zoom out twist to rotate etc Even Photoshop manages to use these gestures to manipulate its canvas (Including zoom and rotate) that way... I would be over the moon if SketchBook would have a good working system like that, that does not need any key combinations, but just lets you use your fingers (If you have a touch device, obviously!)
