Is the Scan-to-mesh tool/capability going to return to ReCap? If so when, or if not why not? We had not had a chance to try this ourselves before it was removed from the product, however, we definitely see value in such a capability, and therefore want to know what the future holds for this.

It would be great to have the ability to see coordinates in Realviews on the ACC viewer. This functionality is possible in Recap and on the viewer in Docs, but not the Drive/ACC viewer. It's an important feature to many users and was previously requested for the Docs viewer here: XYZ coordinates display in Autodesk Doc Cloud Viewer - Autodesk Community

Hello, I have found one of the most beneficial uses of Recap 360 to be viewing the 360 images generated with clients and consulting team members during design reviews. it would be immensely beneficial to extend this workflow beyond the use of recap through the ability to export 360 panoramas which can be easily shared among team members. It would be good if we had the option to open the online Recap projects in the Real view by default, or to select the option which view to open by default. Now that we have upload the RCS files (compared to the previous possibility to upload Real Views only), users have been saying that it’s confusing to not get the Realview-view first.

It would be helpful to have the ability to add or generate textures to the Non-structured scan formats, such as PTS or LAS etc. when using the S2M tool, as it is common to use those file formats for mesh generation.

Now you can update origin into a point but it would be wonderful if you could update origin by typing the coordinates. Right now the point where you want to update the origin needs to be there. Often the origin does not have any points.

We should be able to extract the panoramic photo directly inside Recap instead of using a competitor software (ex. Faro Scene). The reason is that sometimes we just need to visualise the photo taken from the scanner but we don't need or can't install the Recap software so we extract the photos and make them available in IE or Chrome browser.

We should have the ability to select a point and change the property by entering a value for X,Y,Z. The entire point cloud could then change position based on this change. Also, it would be nice to rotate the entire point cloud based on a reference plane or line or property value and resave. I don't care if it takes a long time to recalculate every point. It's easier than going back to registration, changing it there and then exporting again. Where you at Autodesk???

Please create a functionality that allows you to utilize the regions from RECAP when viewing scan data in Navisworks. This functionality is already integreated into AutoCAD, Revit, and Invenetor. This will greatly help presenting 3D model with useful laser scan data.

We need tools that help align point clouds to data in autocad, revit, etc.. Finding wall surfaces for alignment, or using multiple points for rotation and alignment would help in making the point cloud data more consistent in placement. Interior scans are much more difficult to locate especially when you cannot have survey control. When scanning in very enclosed locations, alignment becomes paramount to dealing with adjacency and coordination.

Faro Scene and E57 projects display cleaned/modified scans in Cintoo. ReCap still displays all the original/unclean content after cleanup. Note: An E57 export from ReCap also displays all the original/unclean content after cleanup. Here is what this issue looks like:

Currently we can only redefine the origin and pick point from the point cloud which define new origin and it's orientation. But sometimes it is not accurate enough or it is hard to pick the correct point. I would like to be able to translate the origin by specifying an X, Y or Z distance. Same thing for the rotation around X, Y or Z Axis. This would help for fine tuning and to get an accurate positionning of the point cloud.

You should be able to remove/ delete multiple scans at a time, during the registration process and after.

Recap Project Navigator does not allow you to select a range of scans and then turn them on or off. This problem has been reported before and the idea status was changed to "implemented". I am posting this again because the problem has been solved only partially. You can isolate a scan by alt-click and turn all other scans on/off by one click. The alt-click solution solves only part of the problem and it has a bug. It works fine if you only view one scan at a time and revert to all scans visible by alt-clicking the scan again. But if you isolate one scan by alt-click, then open one or two more scans by clicking them, you can no longer make all scans visible by alt-clicking again. The only way to get all scans visible again is to click them open one by one. This can be very frustrating if you have dozens of scans. There is also the possibility to create groups of scans and turn the group on or off. However, this is only meaningful if there is some permanent use for the group. Dragging scans one by one to the group just for the purpose of viewing them once does not make sense. Why not implement the standard multiple select (shift-click and control-click) selection methods that are used almost universally in desktop software? Select a range of items from the list, or pick a set of individual items, then turn them on or off by a single click.

Have the Feature extraction available in Realview also. This is currently only available in point cloud view, but I would see it having use in the Real View too.

The BLK360 scanner is only supported with a special iPad. The request is to have it supported with other (mobile) operating system as well, such as Windows (mobile) and Android.

Since the clip/delete in a region has been disabled when unassigned points are turned off in the latest updates, it would be helpful to have a shortcut to turn on/off these points easier.

I did not see this valued time-saver on the forum or ideas. ReCap performs an auto cloud-to-cloud registration but does not include the white targets during this process. After the auto-registration is complete you then have the ability to name white spheres and fix registration problems. I want to be proactive with this registration process and INCLUDE/prioritize the white spheres during the initial auto-registration process. Please auto-find and auto-name the white spheres. When a registration group is created, I want to see my white spheres included in a registration quality table. Scan name, OVERLAP, BALANCE, POINTS<6mm, MATCHED TARGETS<3mm) BTW-Faro Scene software has this feature and has many end-users switching to their platform based on the time saving of this one feature alone.

Recap Photo absolutely needs to have a save feature once photos are imported and ground control assigned. EVERY time I use the program, there is some update, file path, error, right when I get to the end to submit for processing and I have to reimport and reset all the ground control points. It is extremely frustrating. It isn't 10,20 or 30% of the time, it is at least 50% that that happens. Just a project save to the local drive with the photo list and the ground control placement so you can reopen the project once issues are addressed. Different messages, autodesk drive/fusion/360 errors, etc. Thank you.
