Multiple select scans on and off

Recap Project Navigator does not allow you to select a range of scans and then turn them on or off.

This problem has been reported before and the idea status was changed to  "implemented".

I am posting this again because the problem has been solved only partially.

You can isolate a scan by alt-click and turn all other scans on/off by one click.

The alt-click solution solves only part of the problem and it has a bug.

It works fine if you only view one scan at a time and revert to all scans visible by alt-clicking the scan again.

But if you isolate one scan by alt-click, then open one or two more scans by clicking them, you can no longer make all scans visible by alt-clicking again. The only way to get all scans visible again is to click them open one by one.

This can be very frustrating if you have dozens of scans.

There is also the possibility to create groups of scans and turn the group on or off. However, this is only meaningful if there is some permanent use for the group. Dragging scans one by one to the group just for the purpose of viewing them once does not make sense.

Why not implement the standard multiple select (shift-click and control-click) selection methods that are used almost universally in desktop software? Select a range of items from the list, or pick a set of individual items, then turn them on or off by a single click.

Hi Mika,

I voted for your idea because I strongly believe in your comment that the ability to multiple select or hide scan locations should work the same way as layers in AutoCAD.  Currently you can only painfully select one scan location at a time.  Also, I was able to "ALT" select a scan location to turn all scan locations back on even after adding or removing a few scan locations.

I created a YouTube video to show what you are describing above.  I hope this additional feedback is helpful.

Here is a LINK to the original idea post from Feb. 2016 that was not fully implemented as requested.

It should also support dragging multiple files into folders, and dragging folders up or down the lists of scans.

Currently if you try to drag a scan into a folder that is above it far enough that you have to scroll up the list of scans, it won't scroll at all. So you have to drag a scan or folder up approximately half of a screen in height over and over again to get to the top of a list.

I am using ReCap Pro 2022 and this issue is still not resolved. Come on AutoDesk sort this out, this should be an easy fix.

This feature has been implemented in ReCap 2022. User can use ctrl / shift button to multi-select the scans to show /hide the scans.
