File name not showing for .ipn files?

I have created a title block which picks up the filename of a model and autofills in the title block, however when ever i drop an .ipn file into a new sheet it picks up the file name of the model within the .ipn file, is the way for it to pick up the .ipn file?

Does the ipn file have the ability to change the bom structure to normal?

In the document settings of the ipn.
Then Bill of material.
Then change to normal.
Save the file ipn.
Do not know if this is possible I am not at my desk

Hi,

I think this is the default setting and nothing to do against it.

The only unique information ipn's contain is the VISUAL INFORMATION required to make the exploded view. Everything else is pulled from the associated .iam.

Even if you could get the .ipn file name for in the drawing, it doesn't seem to make much sense to use it because it's just saying "Look at this pretty visual" then SEARCH for a different file to actually get any usable information. Therefore, it just makes sense to only really reference the file with useful information in - the .iam.

If you really wanted to be stubborn, you could probably figure out a way to do it with iLogic, but it would be more of a hack job than a proper solution.
