The following idea should be implemented to my opinion:

Dimension Component (Part and Assembly).

Please provide a tool that makes it possible to create and define i-properties with the maximum outside dimensions of a component (Read Part and Assembly), like “Length” “Width” and “Thickness”.

The dimensions should be based either on the UCS or on a User defined UCS if needed (of the component is rotated).

At the moment I use the Rangebox of the component in the API, but this is only based on the UCS and cannot be defined in another position or rotation or User defined UCS.

you probably figured it out, but there are ways to calculate the boundingbox of a rotatet part.

Just take a lock at the "other" idea.
