I found  some code that will add levels by material name What I need is once I run this I want every detail\section to apply hatches by the material. It only sets the parameters of the geometry, not the hatching style or properties of the hatch This would include the ability to scale the hatch by the scale of the detail. I can export an IDW/DWG to PDF. I can export a part/assembly file to a 3D PDF. I can export a STP file of a part/assembly file. Why not combine all of that into one exported file?    Can I go from the drawing environment to one PDF file containing the 2D drawing, the 3D PDF and STP of the model contained in the drawing, all in one operation?  Show More

I use the limits & fits dialog box a lot..   When I fut on a fit on a hole, I first have to select the fitting for the hole, and after that I have to select the fitting for the axle and go all the way down in the lift of fitings to selec N/S. It would be great if the axle fitting would be set to N/A automatically when I have selected the fitting for the hole.   It would also be great to have a more easy way to select the correct fitting from the list. The list is very long and its takes efford to scroll to the desired fitting.   My suggestion is that instead  of having a scroll list to select from, there would insted open a new big dialog box, with a lot of fittings to select from. With the possibility to select the most used fittings, my own list of selected fittings,  a tool to select the wanted fitting... loose, firm, tight, press etc.       Show More

Hello, I like having multiple windows open such that I can view multiple parts and/or assemblies at once for easy referencing. But the current setup in Inventor 2019 doesn't allow at-a-glance retrieval of the correct window among many from the Taskbar.   Some examples of existing standard behavior:   Outlook: An open email window will appear in the taskbar as the program icon, and a bit of text from the subject of the email. Outlook's main window's Taskbar icon has the program icon and the name of the open mailbox.   Pro-E Wildfire: The program icon and the filename of the open part in that window. The program icon graphic also changes if it's a part or assembly or drawing. Very easy to navigate at a glance.   Word: The program icon and the filename of the open or active document.   Inventor: The Inventor icon, and "Autodesk Inventor." These always have the same input: "Intersection" => For example, I have an import ceiling mirror, which I have projected and now need a sketch point at all intersections. So I would like to mark the complete sketch and say, set a sketch point at all "intersections". On the other hand, I need several hours for this task! Hello, I'd like to request an option for a confirmation prompt before closing the program. Sometimes I've got the wrong window selected and do Alt+F4, or the cursor doesn't quite go where I want it to go prior to a click, or I just bump my Alt+F4 mouse shortcut button at the wrong time. If all files are saved, Inventor will simply close without question. Re-opening it then takes awhile for it to load, and I'll have effectively "lost my place" as far as what I was doing. I'm in the very early stages of trying a move from Wildfire to Inventor, and WF does ask for confirmation before quitting.   Second and third suggestions: I was looking for such an option in Options --> Prompts. Two things here: 1) There are lots of available options. This is good. What it could use is a search tool to filter these numerous options by keyword. 2) The Prompt Text descriptions are pretty descriptive, which is good too. But if I try resizing the Application Options window in order to fit more Prompt Text description on the screen at once so it's faster to read, the text box with the three columns in it does not resize with the window, so I need to either scroll left and right a lot, or use the gray-on-yellow (less contrast, so harder to read) tooltips that pop up. (While I'm on the "harder to read" thing, I don't suppose there might at some point be larger text options than 8 and 9 under the General --> Text Appearance option tab? The monitors I have at work do not do well with font scaling or non-native resolutions in Windows 10.)     Thank you. Show More

Во первых хотелось бы сказать, как говорил Жванецкий, тщательнЕй надо ребята. Понимаю всякие Солидворксы на хвост наступают, надо крутить педали велосипеда под названием бизнес. Так вот это даже не идея, а требование! Да да, требование! Я работаю в инвенторе с 4-той версии. И мне очень не хочется переходить на что то иное.   Посему сделайте возможность скрывать часть размеров в эскизе при его редактировании (кто работал со сложными эскизами, тот меня, уверен, поймет!). Или сделать фильтр. Бывает в эскизе более 50-ти размеров и за этой "сеткой" трудно даже выбрать какой либо графический элемент. Также хотелось бы, что бы размеры были там где я их ставлю в эскизе а не блуждали как им вздумается при всяческим дальнейших манипуляциях.   С уважением к разрабам, Нерзов. п.с. Here are some wishes and maybe some of these can already be performed with hotkeys Sketching 1.When adding parameters to a sketch and you go to your list of parameters. hover over the List icon the list opens list, no clicking.  2. Parameters. Jump to the parameter by typing in the 1st letter, like in windows explorer 3. How about sketch with a mline. the mline width can be set by a parameter Assembly 1. Selecting faces to constrain.  Hover over the part and when the Face menu pops up to have it auto-expand.  No trying to click on that Tiny drop-down arrow. Drawing 1. Must have- Spellcheck that works on Bubbles elevation, section titles, title block etc. 2. Must have - Find and replace that works on the same as spellcheck 3.  Add more options under view style (visual style),  not a just Hidden line, line, and Shaded. Why not pull in some options from visual styles, from assembly view style on the ribbon. Or add view style to the drawing ribbon and control the view style from that menu or have the option to change it from the view style menu. 4. Transparency -add screen percentages transparency option   5. I've been having issues with my windows machine unexpectedly shutting down to apply updates. On start up my machine will reopen some programs i.e. Microsoft Excel and allow me to save recovered files.   I suppose this would be fitting for any Autodesk application, but a feature similar to Microsoft's would prevent any loss of data as the shutdown would result in a recoverable file.   I do see some scenarios were this may not be ideal but Ill leave this open for discussion.   Ill add a few more thoughts towards this later when I've time. Edit iproperty of IDW, revision number  The change or iproperty automatically updates the active row in the revision table  In Windows explorer :  1. Locate file  2. Right click on file and edit iproperty, modify revision number  3. Open drawing in inventor  The change in iproperty is NOT reflected in the active row of the revision table  In Design Assistant :  1. Open idw file  2. Modify the revision column of the file  3. Open drawing in inventor  The change in iproperty is NOT reflected in the active row of the revision table Solution:The revision number in iProperty and the revision number on a sheet are two different things.  The revision number in iProperty is about the version of the file itself. Revision number of a sheet is about the sheet. An idw/dwg file can have multiple sheets and each sheet has its own revision history.  So it's not possible at the moment, to modify revision number of sheet outside of Inventor.
