Can I install and run Revit 2015 and Revit 2016 on the same computer. Some of my practice files are 2015 from my old laptop - now I have 2016 on my new laptop and need to put 2015 on the new laptop as well so I can work on the old files also
Yes you can so long as you are under active Subscription. Just keep in mind that Revit is not backwards compatible.
Good Luck!
Hello TravisNave,
I have a similiar question regarding the installation of Revit 2015 (student version) and Revit 2016 (student version) on the same computer. My school currenty upgraded from Revit 2015 to 2016. Unfortunately, I have Revit 2015, and I learned the "hard way" that Revit 2016 is not backwards compatible.
I currently have a three year license (little over two years is left) with Revit 2015. I'm wondering if the installation of Revit 2016 on the same computer might cause compatiblity issues or worse? What if the simplier strategy is to uninstall Revit 2015 and install Revit 2016?
Thanks for the help and suggestions,
Darren
I currently have/use Revit 2015.
My instructor insists I have Revit 2016 for her class.
I don't want both.
How do I transition to Revit 2016? Is it automatic when I install it?
I want Revit 2015 to be replaced by the new version.
thanks, lmh
