- I used an Admin Account to install AutoCAD LT 2017 onto the desktop.
- the install ran fine.
- I could then launch the AutoCAD LT 2017 product, and it seems to operate and work fine.
- if I then restarted the machine, and logged in as a regular user, and launched AutoCAD LT 2017, I get a generic error popup window, saying that AutoCAD LT 2017 has stopped working, and giving me option to Close the Program.
You need to temporarily give the user local admin or power user privilege on first launch so that it can complete the profile setting setup for that user. Once launched, you can move them back to a restricted user. Though, honestly, there is no reason not to give your draftsmen and engineers local administrator rights on their own machine. It does not give them any more privileges in your enterprise and will save you lots of headaches like this.

In case the information that @TravisNave has provided doesn't resolve this issue you may want to review this article and its solutions. But I would assume this issue if related to the information I provided would be in the case for all user accounts and not just certain ones.

Hi,
I'm working with Ron on this issue.
I have already tried :
- giving Admin Rights to our 'regular' user account.
- restarting machine
- logging in with this 'regular' user account, which now has admin privleges .
- launching AutoCAD LT will still get same exact error.
