Annyeonghaseyo (hi), One of the greatest challenges in construction is the coordination of projects, mainly in relation to the management of the vast amount of documents and updates of information of projects of diverse disciplines. It is necessary, to control access permissions to digital files, to control their revisions, to ensure that the updated revision is available to all those involved in the process, to assign responsibility for issuing hard copies, to ensure that there are no hard copies of obsolete files in use by the production team. By this, why not create a QR Code Module in BIM 360 Docs that will control all the distribution of the sheets and documents to the Field workers? This can have the following workflow: 1) First of all create a QR Code Module in BIM 360 Docs that will manage all codes generated in the system, this will track all the QR Codes generated for the sheets and documents. 2) When uploaded, the sheets and documents in different formats as PDF, DWG, DWF, Word, Excel or extracted from the Model, the user will have the option to activate the QR Code mode. 3) When activating the QR Mode this will automaticaly generate a QR Code for all the sheets and documents in all selected folders. The pre-positioning of the QR Code it can be created a specific view for that purpose (like we have in plan views). 4) If the user does not want a QR Code in the Sheet of an specific file in the folder it can be created a column called QR Code with a option of yes / no. 5) In the QR Code Module the manager can send an e-mail for the responsible for printing the hard copies in Field saying how many hard copies it has to be printed and for whom he has to delivery the hard copy. 6) After printing the hard copy the responsible for the delivery will give it for the Field Works. Now, to receive the hard copy the Field Works will have to scan the QR Code, to do this job they will log in in BIM 360 Docs app with the QR Code Module tab that will be created and there they will see which are the copies that they have to receive. 7) To receive the hard copies they will scan the QR Codes, when they do that the system will automatically know who was the user that received that hard copy and what was the time. 8) The manager in the office can have a vision of all the deliveries and most important, people in the Field can know if a hard copy of a sheet or a document it is up to date scanning the QR Codes using the QR Code Module in BIM 360 apps that will show OK, if it is up to date, or NOT UP TO DATE if a new version of that document has been released. 9) If it is not up to date the Field Worker can ask for a hard copy at the same moment. This would really improve the delivery of hard documents in the Field, I am available for a presentation if this is necessary, Best Regards, Tiago Ricotta
