After configuring PDF publishing for 2D drawings in VP2018 when moved to Released State. The PDF is then created and also marked as Released. Both files then appear in the Thin Client. When the 2D drawing is then moved to WIP, the PDF remains Released. At this point the 2D file is not visible in the TC, but old information in the PDF still is.   Customer requested that, to avoid old\incorrect data being consumed in production, when the 2D file is moved to WIP, the PDF is also moved to WIP and no longer visible to Thin Client users.   Cannot see how to configure this in VP 2018.2 Show More

Autodesk Development Team should bring back the functionality to plot list of files from BOM tab on Autodesk Vault Thin Client 2022.     In Vault Thin Client 2022 plot button is missing in BOM tab. Would like to have an administrator option to force a date watermark to be printed on drawings when printed from the thin client. Where I work we have to keep track of all controlled documents, but it is states in our policies that once a drawing is printed from vault, it is no longer controlled. Well we have come into problems where manufacturing are printing out drawings months ahead of time and missing crucial revisions and we have no way of knowing when the prints they are using were printed from vault.   Water mark only needs to be along the edge of the printing area and to contain the day, month, and year. Instead of having to pick each sheet from the Document Browser when viewing multi-sheet idw, something like any PDF viewer where continuous scrolling through sheets is available. Or single page scrolling, but scrolling regardless will move you sheet to sheet. This would prevent the scroll wheel from being used as zoom, but there are ways around that (Ctrl + Scroll to zoom).   My shop floor guys are making good use of Thin Client but the muscle memory of being able to freely scroll through a drawing when saved as a PDF is hard to forget. In the Vault 2022 thin client, the addition of the Forge viewer is wonderful.  However, I find the support for image files to be lacking.  While we have a lot of CAD files in our Vault, the vast majority of files are PDF and TIF.  It would great if users could view these files in browser without having to download every single file just to see it on screen. Let administrators more fully control what information is displayed to users about files. I want to limit users of the thin client to only see the latest version of released files.  Currently, there is no way to turn off the 'History' tab, so there is a dangerous chance that users can view, download or print Rev 0 of a drawing when we really only want them to have access to the latest Version of the latest Revision in the Release state. The admin can set which properties are displayed under each tab, but why not give us full control to hide display of file 'History', 'Uses', 'Where-Used', etc? Show More

We are using Autodesk Vault Professional 2026 including Vault Thin Client.   Vault currently provides a built-in Log File Configuration which automatically manages: Console Logs Server Logs File Store Logs Email Logs Audit Logs However, the following log types are currently not affected by this configuration: restapilog-* VGLog-* VaultConnectorLog-* According to Autodesk Support, there is currently no native setting to limit the retention or automatically delete these log files. As a result, Vault administrators must implement their own Windows Scheduled Tasks or custom scripts to manage these logs, while other Vault log types are already handled by the built-in configuration.   Requested Enhancement Please extend the existing Log File Configuration so that: restapilog-* files are included in the cleanup process. VGLog-* files are included in the cleanup process. VaultConnectorLog-* files are included in the cleanup process. Alternatively, provide separate retention settings for these log types. Benefits Consistent log management across all Vault-generated logs. Reduced administrative effort. No need for custom cleanup scripts. Prevention of unnecessary disk space consumption. Better support for environments using Thin Client, Vault Gateway and Vault Connector. Current Workaround Currently administrators must create their own scheduled cleanup tasks to remove old REST API, Vault Gateway and Vault Connector log files, while all other major Vault log types can already be managed through the built-in Vault configuration. With the new updated Thin(web) client using the magnifying glass I can easily see both the thumbnail preview and the DWF Visualization file. However this window is fixed in size and too small making it difficult to properly view the DWF file. I know I can right-click and "Open with DWF Application" but I shouldn't have to.   This window should be changed to that... . Would it be possible to have better control of what is displayed on the Item Master records Associated files. Currently you see everything, or you can uncheck "Show Non-Primary File Links" and see only the Primary linked file. This causes issues for us when you have an idw linked as a secondary file link. You can only see the ipt or iam file (Primary file).   With "Show  Non-Primary File Links" checked, the Primary and Secondary files often get lost in the noise caused by the Secondary Subcomponent file links. This is especially true when a component is used on hundreds of assemblies. This is particularly an issue for our Manufacturing department using the thin Client. I'm not aware of anyway to control this in the thin client environment.   Instead of the "Show Non-Primary file links", it would be nice to have check boxes to include the specific types of files you would like to display. Our company's standard for online authentication is to use Windows PIN authentication (thousands of employees).  We are trying to rollout ThinClient, but employees cannot easily access the website (because no other form of authentication is set up for the average employee).  Please consider supporting PIN authentication - it will help with adoption of Autodesk products at our workplace. From my IT online case autodesk response: "The PIN Authentication is part of Microsoft's Windows Hello for Business, which Autodesk does not support and has no current plans to support at this time."
