Trouble installing Revit 2016 to my windows-7 ultimate

OPTION ONE:

Ok, so the first thing you could try is to download straight from VIRTUAL AGENT.

 

After Downloading, follow these steps:

 

You should clean your TEMP Folder prior to installation:

  • On the Windows Start menu, enter %TEMP% in the "Search programs and files" edit field. (Windows Start Button Search)
  • In the Temp folder, press CTRL+A to select all the files and folders contained in the Temp directory and delete them.
  • Make sure that you put the source installation files to be extracted/setup files in your root drive e.g. - C:\ (By default) 
  • Windows sometimes cannot manage to install some components like vcredist or ADSK material library once trying to install from other root drives.
  • Make sure that run everything as administrator or with administrative rights. To be sure that you are, right-click and select the "Run as Administrator". 

 

OPTION TWO: (If you still struggle to Install, then do the following)

Let's start fresh with a to CLEAN UNINSTALL AutoCAD and then also remove .NET and C++ libraries and then reinstall them again followed by reinstalling AutoCAD. 

  

Steps to follow: (BREAKDOWN of OPTION TWO)

Clean uninstall AutoCAD >> Remove .NET & C ++  and re-install >> Copy Downloaded Installation Files from Virtual Agent to correct main drive root (C:\) >> Run Extraction/Setup as Admin.

Also provide log-file (underlined on your screenshot) for diagnostics (remove all confidential information, such as Serial Number, e-mail, etc.).

Without the log file it is hard to tell.  It is either likely to be a download failure, or a failure to install ReCap.  Both of those are easily fixable.

 

I would recommend that you try downloading your product using the virtual assistant by following the directions here:

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/software-downloads/download-method...

If it still fails on ReCap, then choose not to install it at first.  Let the installation finish.  Then install it afterwards if desired.
