I suggest to be able to load files on A360, in the project space, instead of from A360 Drive. At the moment one can only access files on A360 drive, which is really bothersome as eg most of ky work is on A360 and the Forge API does also only work with A360. I understand this idea has been previously posted, but… to further encourage development:   It would be exceptionally helpful to quickly integrate 3D and 2D CAD/models into a ReCap scene. The visual quality of the imported geometry could be basic (wireframe, simple coloured faces) to maintain ease of use, navigation speed and realtime performance.   Being able to integrate 2D CAD into a point cloud can quickly confirm dimensional accuracy such as the comparison of architectural plans to scan data. With 3D CAD, inserting a proposed building addition into an existing, scanned environment to confirm views and impact analysis. The visual simplicity of the imported CAD would indicate a work in progress as opposed to a finished, photoreal Max rendering. Show More

Currently AutoCAD has a Level of Detail (LOD) setting.  This is amazing and works as expected.  This does not exist in Revit.  Therefore, if I have a point cloud in Revit, I must decimate it to show fewer points.   Now I need to decimate a RCS file with Recap Pro but don't think it is possible.  I may need to export to pts/ptx and then re-import and apply a filter.  Regardless, the LOD would be awesome to have in Revit too!!! Previously in remake you could take your high poly scan model, export and retopologize or UV map depending on your needs and, then import that lower poly or re-UV mapped mesh and project the texture onto it. Basically the standard High to low poly workflow, the current method leaves you stuck going to another software package to reproject your textures since this feature was not ported over from remake to recap pro. If you use the decimation tools inside recap and use them for "best topology" you lose your textures and get stuck witout a useable texture as in screenshot 1 provided. Human readable UV's with good topology are key in nearly every aspect of 3D design and without these tools there isn't much point in using recap pro. I have 3ds max and since 123D catch is no longer available I have a trial of Recap Pro because I'm trying to convert a series of JPEG images into a 3d mesh. How can I convert these images? Recap doesn't accept JPEG and I'm getting the runaround on the Internet with no real answers because Autodesk changes their software and their compatibility so often. In the export to the desktop version make recap all scan in the same group if you don’t make the registration in recap mobile. The problem is that is not every time simple to make the registration on the mobile version and if you can make the group direct on the mobile and after this you make the export on the desktop version and make the registration of this group.   the second idea is that on the mobile version you can not make a automatic registration between scan if you make a jump from a room to the next. You  can not say I want to make the registration between this scan and another one there not direct before is. This is possible on the desktop version.   maybe is good to have a solution to remove the scan after you make the registration if this is wrong registered. We reuse native Faro laser scans (FLS) all the time in different ReCAP projects.  Every time we need a native scan we need to IMPORT the FLS folder.  Why can't Autodesk convert all this native RAW scan data into a RCS Recap folder format?  I want to store and backup RCS folders not FLS folders and bypass the multiple imports of the same FLS raw scan folders. Can you simplify the process of bringing in a Point Cloud, DTM, DSM and Orthomosaic into CAD? Right now I have to import and re process data in ReCAP THEN try to bring that into AutoCAD. Its very cumbersome and programs such as Bentley and Trimble Business Center are much easier for consuming this data. It would be great if you could just "import" the file and it would open smoothly just like Global Mapper. In Global Mapper, I can bring in almost any type of file but I want to work with them in AutoCAD so it becomes a real chore! Show More

For roadway scene cleaning, I generally like to set my far plane to 10 and move noise to a different hidden layer. I would like to start cleaning the scene as soon as a single scan has loaded, but unfortunately as each additional scan loads, the far plane is set back to 10000. Can the far plane settings remain as each scan loads so that I can immediately begin cleaning?  It would greatly help downtime and productivity. Show More
