There are tools (LAStools, for example; http://rapidlasso.com/lastools/) that are used to alter the classification of points based on the ASPRS classification system. USGS data sets usually have just the ground class (#2) and perhaps water (#9) pre-classified from the point cloud. I have used LAStools to convert non-classified points (class #1) into low, med and high vegetation classes (#'s 3, 4 and 5) as well as mdifiying points to the building class (#6). Also, Ihave been able to classify water areas quickly if only the ground was classfied using LAStools as long as there was polygon data for zones of water available (which is common). Building footprint data, road right of ways, railway right of ways, bridges, etc. (now in Infraworks) can be used to assist in classifying the associated classes.

I would like to filter classified point cloud data in Recap so that a point cloud containing only ground data can be brought into C3D. C3D's filter method would be sufficient if the data is not classified but is not desirable when the data can be filtered. This was possible in C3D 2017 but with updates to software that functionality has gone away and we need a better way to filter the point cloud data. There is as way using "MAPCREATEPCSURFACE" to filter the data and create a DEM file to create a surface but when I do that the surface doesn't lay on the DEM which is frustrating. The "MAPCREATEPCSURFACE" work around adds another step to the workflow when it should be an included function.

It would be nice if once you alt-click to isolate a scan, you could easily turn them all back on. Am I missing something?

Can you add View States Subfolders? This would be handy to arrange certain viewstates for animation in different parts of the whole scan.

If no scale was set in Photo-to-3D it should be possible to set the scale in Recap, so that the models correctly Import to Inventor/AutoCAD. The best way would be to allow editing in the measurement dialogs.

Using the trial, I have tried serval different mesh exports (varied in size) with no luck. I get 2 reason for error. "Request is temporally unavailable". Well my time is my time. Why can't we just export out to our own computer like Edgewise? Faro scene? .rvt or .dxf. How about finding cylinders with a center line? I am an Electrical Designer, this feature would be great for asbuilts or retrofit work.

Control point # 1 is to apply to the photos 138-139-140-141-159-160-161-162-168-169-170-171 Control point # 2 to photos 284-285-286-293-294-295-296-323-324-325-332-333-334 Control point # 3 to photos 188-189-190-209-210-211-223-224-225 Control point # 4 to photos 147-148-151-152-153-177-178-179-185-186-187-188 Control point # 5 to photos 179-180-181-182-183-184-185-213-214-215-216-217-218-219-220-221 Identify those photos to apply the control points is very difficult Thanks

the creation of orthoimage would be a great implementation in recap. we need this function to obtain ortho photographies for landsurveying jobs. thanks.

The ReCap 360 home page looks great, but the performance can be clusmy/laggy. It seems like we are giving up performance over aesthetics especially when it comes to the animations, mouse-hover, etc. If we can keep the look, but improve performance that would be great.

Ability to turn off Visibility of Unassigned Points Having the ability to turn off unassigned points that are not yet on a region would help when editing and preparing exports by not holding back performance due to too many points being assigned to regions. The more regions used, the slower the RCP file as the result. So by having this ability, the user can make less working exports therefore saving time in the process.

Similar to what the RealityCapture software package offers. Add the ability to combine manually selected controlpoints from 2d photographs to the lidar data as the lidar is just rough points. While you're at it, allow for the LIDAR data to be made into an exportable format with materials .fbx, .obj

I would like to find in Recap a section dedicated to create planes by three points or selected area, with the opportunity to select a threshold selection of the pointcloud to make a section. the section could be exported or vectorized by an automatic generation of polylines through the slice of point cloud. If the project contains more than one scan, the polyline need to be just one unique and not one for each scan.

I find that the coordinate info in the bottom left corner gets really hard to see, particulalry with you have light color scan points. If the text for the coordinate info could either be a bit larger and bolder, or masked so you can read it at all times, this would be helpful! Kevin

I would like the ability to measure pipe diameters without having to select a second measurement point. I would also like the ability to query pipe diameters in tools like AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D. Currently, I can snap to the centerline of a pipe and I see the pipe segment being highlighted, but if I want to "back model" the pipe I have to first measure the pipe diameter in ReCap and then model in AutoCAD Plant 3D.

The Pipe Snap feature allows for the extraction of a cylindrical shape to facilitate dimensioning to the center or quadrant points on a pipe. The Pipe Snap should also allow the radius and diameter of the pipe to be dimensioned.

I have various .rcp files developed on the Recap and I would want to merge them but the registration process doesn't show me points to register them on, i thought the file i developed was faulty but it will develop itself awkwardly with no UCS. I can send the files that have been processed if you could help me diagnose the problem so i can make more meaning of this merging or registration process. I will be attaching a video of how the process is being hampered. If the file is developed

Prior to exporting a pointcloud, it sometimes makes it easier if you can create a known control point from a paper target or point but it doesn't seem like you can add new coordinates after registering and indexing.

The idea is that ReCap Pro can support more than 250 images, which can easily duplicate this number or more, so that the alignment is quick without the manual intervention of setting up reference points in the final registration.

I have issues with large scanning files, I had a project that consists of 342 scanning files, as I keep on merging groups on the way to creating one group, after a certain number close to a hundred scans the visualization window goes out of order and all the scans starts to loose their position and becomes concentrated in one area. could you please look into it.
