Hi guys and gals,
I need help choosing the right setup for my needs. I configured two different models (HP Z series and a Titan X151) but I need to keep it under
$2000 (US $).
Here are the two configurations (see attachments).
Titan looks like a great choice although I've never heard of them, and my professor suggested an HP Z series.
If someone would help me choose the right setup for these programs I'd really appreciate it:
3DS Max
ZBrush
Premiere Pro
AfterEffects
Photoshop
Marvelous Designer
etc...
I hope someone would help me configure a great computer under (US) $2000 I'd be so relieved. I don't want to 'build' one myself so I thought these would be good to start with.
Obviously, I'm not a pro, but I did get a certificate in Digital Media: Animation and Modeling. (Big woop!) I just love 3DS Max and ZBrush, and making travel video's / mountain bike movies.
Please help! I'm tired of buying off the shelf/cheap computers.
Thank you in advance,
Ken
Having a certified video card and WHQL driver is the most important factor in your decision to purchase computer hardware.
Good Luck!

You also are asking us to spec out a machine based on non-autdesk product, so that's not going to happen here..
In addition it sounds like you're a student and anything you create with your free Autodesk license can not be used or shared so make sure you're not doing that.

Me personally would go with the Titan machine because of it has a great graphics card, processor, and ssd storage...

Thanks for your feedback guys,
I was fairly convinced to "upgrade" to the Titanus X 199 after my original post. It has the i7-6800K Broadwell 3.4 (it's not as fast?). I kept the same GPU, an NVIDEA GTX GeForce 1060. I swapped out the weird case for a MasterCase Pro 5. I just hope this build is truly better than the X 151...!
Jason- Thank you. I didn't know what "WHQL drivers" were until I looked it up. I think I'm good there. Thanks.
Mark-Thank you. I didn't know what "a student" looked like until I read your post but, with luck, I will always be a student... so thanks.
Darin- Thank you. I just hope the 6 core at 3.4 GHz is truly better for the gamut of programs typically used here.
Buyers remorse or uncertainty is weighing on me.
I really do appreciate the feedback. This is a big deal for me. Thanks again,
Ken
