License reservation not working

Our company runs 2 license severs for Autodesk products. One server holds the licenses for AutoCAD and Raster Design, while our second server holds licenses for infrastructure design suite 2014. The issue we are having is that at the time that we packaged AutoCAD, we had one license server, well call it server 1. We recently built a new license server (server 2). Server 2 now contains all of the AutoCAD licenses and server 1 only holds 6 licenses or Infrastructure design Suite 2014. We have been redirecting AutoCAD users to the new server via a script file that updates the registry entry. The problem is that this update is only applied if users launch the application correctly, from our Novell application launcher. 20% for our users don't do that, they just double click DWG files. This totals about 80 users. So 80 users are connecting to server 1 tying up the Infrastructure design Suite 2014 licenses. Users are complaining that they cannot use Civil 3D because a license cannot be found. I decided to reserve licenses for our Civil users and entered the following into our OPT file.

When I restart the Server I get this message to confirm license reservation.

5 out of the 6 licenses are reserved, but when any of the users listed above try to connect, they get a denial

I did notice that the denial includes the users PC number "@ZL8740" should I be including this as well? Should it read

RESERVE 1 86123IDSP_2014_0F USER 0P5388@ZL8740.

Your options file is a little inefficient.  You should set up a GROUP and put the users in the group, then set a RESERVE on the GROUP.  And you absolutely need to have GROUPCASEINSENSITIVE ON set or it won't work because of case-sensitivity.

This actually doesn't answer the question at all. I've encountered same problem and putting users in a group didn't solve it at all.

Some of these users are in Civil group, still they don't use reserved licenses and borrow new ones.

Your option file syntax is off.  You need to be doing this..

I've posted it on another thread already but I will post it here and all my further posts will be here.

I've got some AECCOL licenses for Civil 3D users, but my other users happen to borrow those licenses for Revit or AutoCAD. So i've decided to reserve some Civil licenses for Civil users so they can launch Civil at any time.

So I've created adskflex.opt file just next to my lic file. It looks like this:

Those users on the list are Civil users and I want them to access Civil at any time. After time I went to check on the licenses and I saw that Civil users don't take their reserved licenses. Instead they take new ones. You can see it here:

As you can see, users soverchenkomd, KORMNOVAER, ivanovda, ShemyakinAS got some brand new Civil licenses even though they have 13 reserved ones. This leads to 18 license usage instead of 14.

I've tried to reserve not Civil but whole AECCOL to them and got same result. Here is my log file showing that opt file is correctly parsed:

I am the original poster of this issue. The problem was that the user names were case sensitive, The issue has been resolved.

Sadly this doesn't help too as usernames are totally the same including case :(.

I could use setting usernames case insensitive though. Is there a way to do so?

I see. I have GROUPCASEINSENSITIVE ON so this is not the issue.

Do you have access to Enterprise Priority Support? You can check your support level by accessing your account & following the steps in this article.

You are reserving a different feature for the Group Civil. Look at the feature name that shows up when users connect to Civil and the actual feature name specified in your reservation string.

My bad, I was playing around with different settings and confused you by sending it here. Actually there is 86718CIV3D_2017_0F there right now. But it is the same because AECCOL contains this Civil license.

And yes, I have advanced support, but I never got to set up a call because all Russian language slots are always busy and I'm not sure if I can go to English support.

When did you generate the license aspect for Collection?  Did you regenerate the entire license or did you add the collection information to your existing license?

SUDDENLY as night passed it started working as intended. Problem is solved, i guess...
