Hi,
When the student try to open Inventor Professional 2021, there is a popup saying : "An error has occurred in the script on this page" and Inventor 2021 opens in trial mode.
I did try this with this command : "%programfiles(x86)%\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing\Current\helper\AdskLicensingInstHelper.exe" change —prod_key ***** —prod_ver 2021.0.0.F —lic_method STANDALONE
Here's the step I did :
Thanks!
You should change your default browser settings. What is your OS version?
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem.
I am trying to deploy Inventor Pro 2021 on Windows 10 20H2 x64 connected to an Active Directory.
I tried to change the default browser without success.
Since the computers are behind a proxy, I checked that this was not the problem.
I also tried to reduce the security level of the Internet options without success.
I also need to deploy AutoCAD 2021 and I have no problem with this software.
Thank you for your help.
Maybe try a new download ... disable the Proxy till after activated

Hello,
In my case, I have this problem with Inventor CAM 2021.
I was able to install Inventor Professional 2021 without problems but, when attempting to install Inventor CAM 2021, this error message appears, along other windows saying "Script Error".
If I sign up with my Autodesk account, the license shows no problem, but if I change the license type, it can't be activated. I am sure the type is the same as th OP.
Any suggestion?
Now 3 years later, same issue with version Inventor 2024.3.1 and Script Error after setting license Serial and pressing Next.

I have checked URL using license support tool. I have tried with changing default browser but now joy.
Have anyout figured it out?
@markof360 Just verifying.. You have a serial number still?

Hi @mdavis22569
Yes I have a serial number.
The error I am getting is attached below. I am trying to figure out for all day. I have tried CMD command provided in URL, but the License AdskLicensingSupportTool-2.4.0.1019-win tool does the same thing just with UI which is easier to use.
Hi @mdavis22569
Yes I still have a serial number. I've also tried on another PC with fresh install of Windows 11 with no other software installed then Inventor 2024. And it's throwing same error.
Not sure where is my previous reply gone, appology for duplicates if you can see them both.
I was on the page you mentioned several time, navigating back and forth and trying all options more or less.
I did not get any success with it. How exactly did you register your Serial Number and where / how did you get verification?
I had to open a support ticket first to get the ball rolling. Since I have an educational license my support case would be transferred to the education support team where I provide the details and screenshots of exactly what you are seeing. Support team will then have me try a few different things which aren't going to work from past tickets. Support then sends me a link to this article.
Then I am able to access the https://registeronce.autodesk.com site to register without the verification.
If I go to https://registeronce.autodesk.com without creating a ticket first, it will ask for the verification code every time so I'm not sure if this is because something gets done on the backend or not but the process of creating the ticket first and following the support team instructions has worked for me for AutoCAD 2024, 2025 and Inventor 2025.
On a side note, for weeks I have had the same issues with the script error for Inventor 2024 and I created a ticket and supplied my serial number in the ticket with the correct product key. I got an email from support last night that they were able to register the serial number for me.
