I believe R14 is 16-bit. This will not work in Windows 7, as there is not 16-bit support.
You have probably moved on from this issue by now. If possible, reinstall Windows 7 as 32-bit, then install Autocad R14 (from '97).
Once installed, Try running Autocad in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.
1 - Click the Autocad shortcut and choose "Properties".
2 - Click the "Compatibility" tab.
3 - Tick the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for .....".
4 - Select "Windows XP SP3"
5 - Click 'OK'.
6 - Now try running Autocad.

Then you will probably get a Heap Error. Correct that by
1 - Backup existing file - SH31W32.DLL
2 - Download 3 HDI/DLL files here:

3 - Save files where you found your DLL.

Please tell me If you Know.... I need the autocad R14 in order to put my dxf files into my Rov20 Cnc machine. Is there any newest autocad witch is compatible with the older one???? Please Help me!!!
The following picture is the proof I am running using my machine in Windows 7 Professional...SP1 Build 7601..Just look at the top of the picture where is a partial screen of my System Information...
There is another way to run Autocad R14 and it is using VMWare or VMBox...But you need and actual Windows 95 or 98 or Vista License for the Virtual Machine Emulator...and there are some drawback...which are dealing with display resolution and other Display driver issues that I confronted....But yes you can make it work just fine but in a Old resolution environment and your graphics will look like poor resolution in the screen....Luck with that...
hi @Anonymous
