Hello bruce098

It looks like you’re seeing Error 1603. Error 1603 is a generic error generated by the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) when a problem occurred during the installation of your Autodesk product. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

It appears ifs failing on the C++ 2012 Redistrubtion interface.  Meaning most likely you have a newer version of the application which the install doesn't like.  Go into WIndows/Control Panel/Program featiures/Add&remove programs and remove it.  Then try the installation again.  Also make sure to remove the 332B and 64B version of it.

Your Max is actually failing for a non-descript reason.  It is not a prereq in this case.  It is actually failing on the 3DS Max portion itself.  You might need to find the Max log in the %TEMP% folder, but even that might not necessarily show the reason.

Where did you obtain the install files?  And are you installing with local admin rights, UAC off, and anti-virus disabled?
