Can I use two versions of Maya in the same computer as a single-user student?

Hello, I'm a 3D animation student. I have Maya 2015 (single-user student) installed in my home computer. Recently I was having problems with a rig character so I decided to use Maya 2016/2017 to test if the problems would remain. I downloaded Maya 2016 as a single-user student and installed it. The software opens just fine. But when I do a pose with the character using Maya 2016 and I scrub the timeline, the character's pose comes back to the initial pose. So I can't animate the character anymore using Maya 2016. I uninstall Maya 2016 and install Maya 2016. And the same is also happening with Maya 2017. I didn't uninstall Maya 2015 of my computer. Is this happening because I can't download more than one version of Maya as a student user? Or maybe because I didn't uninstall Maya 2015? Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

I cannot tell you why it is happening, but I can assure you that it has absolutely nothing to do with how many versions of Maya you have installed.  You can have all 3 versions installed without them interfering with each other.  The problem you are facing must be due to another factor.

Hello. Yes, not likely an installation issue. I would suggest posting the query on the Maya forum. They should be able to help more directly with functionality questions:

Hi @Anonymous,

Is this for a student license? Student licenses are only available back to the 2018 versions.

What OS are you running?
