Autodesk Network License Manager update required !!!

avto
Autodesk Support
Autodesk Support

Autodesk Customers with Multi-user subscription or Token-flex implementation using Autodesk Network License Manager (NLM) are required to upgrade the Network License Manager to the latest version v11.18.x to support Autodesk 2020 and newer version products on and after April 1st, 2022.  Therefore, we suggest upgrading the license server by March 2022 to have room for addressing any unforeseen issues and receiving prompt assistance from Autodesk Product Support.

You can download and install the latest version of Autodesk Network License Manager for all the OS platforms by following the instructions mentioned here: https://www.autodesk.com.sg/support/download-install/admins/network-licenses/install-licensing-softw...

For detailed information on all changes and system requirements for Network License Manager, please refer to the release notes from Revenera.

For Autodesk customers on Enterprise Business Agreement (Token Flex), they are recommended to contact their Technical Support contact to get assistance on upgrading to the required version of NLM (and reporting solution, as applicable).  This is NOT applicable to the Token Flex customers that have migrated to Network License Reporting Manager.

Check out a quick reference guide for setting up the Autodesk Network License Manager on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

@Anonymous, This belongs in its own thread, not a reply to an unrelated announcement.  That being said, you cannot reset an expired trial.  There is no way to fix what you are doing, besides installing it onto another machine.

Good Luck!

Hi,

Users that install the 12.2.0.17 Licensing Service update after the up to date (nlm11.18.0.0_ipv4_ipv6_win64.msi ) has been installed, are still getting an error message (error -5.414.0) that is not allowing them to access the products.

The only way we've been able to resolve this so far is to clean uninstall the NLM and then reinstall the same version. Are Autodesk aware of this issue?

What's going on here? Is Autodesk enforcing this update starting last Friday? I have a raising number of users calling in that cannot get a license anymore. They do not have local admin rights and our IT did not deploy any Autodesk update in the last few days.

On all machines I see that 12.2.0.17 has been installed by someone or somewhat. We had scheduled an update for all license serves, now we have to do an emergency update during office hours! 😖

The update was required as of April 1st.

Not everyone is browsing this forum frequently. Killing a product in productive environment is not the nice way.

You mean: Installed on the client or installed on the server?
If you mean "on the client" either also update the server or uninstall update and install older version of ADSK licensing manager.

Installed on the client....followed the uninstall directions and it would still pop that error, ended up wiping the HD and reloading windows but thanks for the info and the quick response.

For all those hit by the latest Client License manager: An incompatible version of the Autodesk license manager is installed on the server

I managed a work-around  and informed Autodesk - they are aware of the problem. So I guess they will be working on a solution.

BTW- I wonder - how can this License Manager update be installed 'automatically'? In my environment, there's not a single update installed for anything automatically - I do that using Windows Shutdown scripts.

Oh, and actually this update seems to make Autodesk Analytics Client Service  occupying a complete CPU core when installed on a Vault 2022 jobprocessor. The KB entries to deactivate Analytics Service seem not to work anymore.

I have created a ticket and we are working on that with the Autodesk support.

Simon, do you have the Autodesk desktop app installed and running on your
clients? That is how updates are pushed. I uninstall it.

same issue here!

We definitely did not run an update and on some clients you can see that obviously an automatic update was done on 07/18/2022 to version 12.2.0.17 and since then the products do not work either.
Our clients normally do not have admin rights either, can it possibly be related to this that (for whatever reason) an update was performed and this could not be installed correctly because permissions are not sufficiently available?

Anyway, there must be an urgent hotfix update!

So my question would be - If the NLM update is installed on the server, would that require the clients to install the update as well?

The clients don't need to have the NLM installed. It's only necessary to
put it on the server. Hope that answers your question.

I understand that the clients do not need the NLM, but I just wonder if the update that is shown in the screen shot I attached would be required after the NLM is updated on the server.
