Autocad Architecture 2017 - Script Error

I installed Autocad Archit 2017 from a deployment as a network license.  I now want to change the license type to serial number.  SO I changed the license type and restarted Autocad.  I now get this error message "Script Error xmsgProductLanguage is undefined"

Here is what I have tried, but the issue still persists.

1. Right click the AutoCAD icon, go to properties - on the shortcut tab, delete the /language "en-US" from the Target text box and then start the program. Found thread here that suggested this as a solution.

Also,

1. Tried running Autocad as administrator.  No luck on that.

Also,

1.Disconnected from internet and started Autocad. Ran as trial then updated serial number to my standalone number. Reconnected Internet. Still get the same message as above when I reconnect to Internet.

Also,

1. Cleared Temporary Internet Files.

2. Cleared %temp% folder.

3. I tried to find the rtthinpackage.js? file that is listed in the above error message, but I could not find it on the system.

I can run as a trial and Autocad works fine as long as I'm not connected to the internet.  I would just like to register it properly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Browse to and delete the following directories:

  • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ADUT
  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\185I1_2017.0.0.F

Once deleted, start the application and choose Serial Number

I deleted the ...\Autodesk\ADUT folder, but I did not have the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\185I1_2017.0.0.F folder.

When I choose Serial Number, I still get the same error. Smiley Sad

If you're saying the ProgramData folder doesn't exists, that's because it's hidden by default.

If you're saying the 185I1_2017.0.0.F folder doesn't exists, copy one of the other folders within LGS directory and rename it to 185I1_2017.0.0.F. Within the folder there should be a LGS.data file. Open it with notepad, then change the value to _Standalone

I already had the C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS.... just no 18511_2017.0.0.F subfolder.

I did as you suggested and copied one of the other sub-folders there. Renamed the folder and edited the file to be _Standalone.

Problem still persists.

Are you using roaming profiles or redirected folders to a network location?  Also, what version of IE are you using, and is it the default browser?

For anyone else having this issue, here a description and the solution for resolving this issue...

@karthur1 had a network version of AutoCAD Architecture installed from a deployment. However, since this machine is going to used out side of the office, he requested and was granted a home use serial number. When using the Change license type link within the application About > Manage License section. When the application is launched, the scripting language appears.

To resolve the issue, browse to and delete the following file:

  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM\CascadeInfo.cas
