3ds max

when ever i try to open up 3ds max i get this message:

DLL <C:\Program files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2013\stdplugs\filelink.dlu> failed to

initialize.

Error code 14001 - The application failed to start because its side-by-side 

configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the

command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

I have already tried reinstalling it but have had no luck, can anyone help?

This error is almost always due to a problem with your Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable prerequisite.
