Network license setup on client

Dear all,

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to solve my problem, and finally decided to register here on your forum.

I would like to setup Network license.

I installed Network License Manager.

I requested a Network License File.

I configured the Network License Manager with the given Network License File for AutoCAD 2016.

Finally I start License server and everything seems fine on the server side.

My problem is - HOW TO CONFIGURE CLIENT TO CONTACT NETWORK LICENSE SERVER ?

I installed AutoCAD on my client machine.

I started AutoCAD. First the "Initializing" comes up. Then "Checking license".

Then additional windows comes up "Your Autodesk Trial".

If I go to "Activate now" of course it does not work beacuse I have serial key for network licensing.

If I go to "Continue Trial" then application is open.

But I cannot find anywhere in the AutoCAD the option to set the licensing server.

What do I exactly have to do on the client side ?

I'm waiting for a real reply. Because as I noted in the post, I already setup and install Network License Server, I have a problem how to configure the clients.

@Anonymous.lugaric - AutoCAD LT does not support network licensing.

If you decide to move to full AutoCAD, you can tell the client where to find the LM using a Windows Environment Variable, as described here.

Sorry, typo - it's not LT. I corrected now my question, I don't know why I put LT in the text...Smiley Sad

Ok, thanks. So the mistake was made during the installation procedure - another License Type had to be installed...

@Anonymous

Based on your information, you installed the application as a standalone license.  You need to switch the registry entry as indicated here   Since this is an old article, just make sure to adjust the path in the registry for your version.  Then as @rkmcswain pointed out create the system variable.

If the reg switch doesn't work, which is hit or miss, then a reinstall will get it.  Fortunately, they have *finally* addressed this in 2017 and you can switch it in the license information help window.  If you are under Subscription, then you can get 2017 now.
