installing free trial of maya 2024 and it just errors out,

ntdll.dll module crashed.

access violation code c0000005 (first/second chance not available)

Ive tried downloading maya 2020, 2022 and they just never launch. I need this fixed. I've tried fresh install like 5 times. Same error every time, contact support and they just route me back to the forums.

Sounds like it could just be a profile issue, especially if it follows multiple releases.  Here's two things you should try to see if that is the case:

1.  Create a new local user on your machine and login to it and launch Maya.  If you are on a domain computer, then have one of your co-workers login to it and see.  Whatever method you can use to try another user.

2.  If it is a user issue, then you can try this.  Go into your documents folder (Previously called My Documents.)  It's usually located in C:\Users\<your-user-profile>\Documents.  If there is a folder called Maya in there, rename it to something else, like Maya.old.  Then see if your Maya launches.  If you cannot test Step 1, then you can try this one first.

Keep me posted.

Good Luck!

I'll look into it after I got off work. I bought the computer prebuilt coming off my 13 year old laptop, so that upgrading to a new computer would be seamless with no old files on it to corrupt. I even made an entire new autodesk account to see if the download would somehow work with that account if my free trial was over 6 years ago or something and they never renew.

I could not find a Maya file within that location but found one on my one drive that would not delete. Changed the name and also went to reddit where they suggested my RAM overclocking profile might be causing stability issues. Switched from 3200MHz back to 2133 MHz and Maya is now working.
