Invalid product key?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I have recently had to upgrade my own computer and transfer a new 2016 license to mine. I successfully de-activated their license using the license transfer utility but when I type in the serial code and Product key into mine I get an invalid product key error? I am using the correct key but it won't register.

Desperate help needed.

Many thanks,

Jack

Hello jack and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you're getting an "Invalid Serial Number” message or having trouble with your product key while trying to register and activate your Autodesk software. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Click Top reasons why you may get a Serial Number Error during Activation

And check Error: "Invalid serial number" (standalone activation)

For product key information: Finding Serial Numbers & Product Keys

If you’re having an issue with your product key, please make sure that you are using the correct one for your product (especially if your product comes from a suite). Finally, you should type then numbers and letters in. We do not recommend copy/paste.

If you are still having issues activating your product, you may visit our Activation Contact Us page and submit your inquiry there.

Product Key are different for different suites, if you have AutoCAD with AutoCAD Design suite then product key will be different when compare to plain AutoCAD.

You need to indicate which Autodesk product or suite that you have and the version as well.  Each product and version has its own product key informaiton.

And welcome to the community and hopefully my (or someone else) reply will be beneficially to you.

As a reminder, this is a world wide (public) user forum where users are assisting others. In addition do not post, attach screen shots, or share any personal information (such as your serial #) here.
