This is not a Fusion bug. This error means the encrypted download stream is being altered or interrupted on the system or network before Fusion finishes installing. Fusion’s installer uses a secure streaming download service. If anything intercepts or inspects HTTPS traffic, the installer will fail with this exact SSL error.
Most common causes:
Antivirus or endpoint protection performing HTTPS/SSL inspection
Corporate firewall or secure web gateway (Zscaler, Forti, Sophos, Palo Alto, etc.)
VPN client (even if “connected but idle”)
Proxy or transparent network inspection
Corrupt Autodesk installer cache
I would try the following:
1. Temporarily disable anything that inspects web traffic
Before reinstalling, temporarily disable:
Antivirus web protection / HTTPS scanning
Endpoint security agents
VPN clients
Secure web gateway or proxy agents
If this is a corporate network, the following domains must be allowed without SSL inspection:
*.autodesk.com
*.autodesk.io
*.akamaized.net
*.amazonaws.com
2. Clear Autodesk installer caches
Close all Autodesk applications, then delete the following folders:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensing
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ODIS
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk\Web Services
%TEMP%\Autodesk
3. Reboot the computer after deleting these folders.
Verify system time and TLS
Make sure:
System date, time, and time zone are correct
TLS 1.2+ has not been disabled by local policy
(Optional) From an elevated command prompt:
w32tm /resync
4. Test without proxy settings (optional but helpful)
From an elevated command prompt:
netsh winhttp reset proxy
5. Then retry the install.
I would use the Full / Offline Installer (recommended workaround)
If the issue persists, bypass the web installer entirely:
Sign in to your Autodesk Account
Download Fusion 360 – Browser Download / Full Installer
Run the full installer instead of the web-based installer
This avoids streaming downloads and is the most reliable solution on restricted networks.
Hopefully this gets you what you want. I suspect it is likely just a corrupted installer.
Good Luck!
