Autodesk license key insert into a Matlab license file, need to contact support

How do I combine Autodesk license numbers into an existing license file for Matlab?  I don't have an original Autodesk license file to start from.

Does not help my situation.

How do I talk to a support professional from AutoDesk concerning the License Manager?

Hello Steve and welcome to the forum,

You can't combine your autodesk licenses with the licenses from another company. You only combine mulitple licenses files of Autodesk products together. You will want to install the Autodesk license server in addition to the matlab server and setup a seperate license service with a different name from the matlab for autodesk. As long as they are trying to operating on the same port number they can both be running on the system at the same time without conflict. Here's a setup guide if needed.

"To combine license files for Autodesk products into one license file, you must edit the existing license file and add lines from the new license file. Do not configure a separate service for the new Autodesk product." MatLab uses the same LMTools licensing manager that Autodesk does.

It amazes me not to find a means to talk to a support engineer on this rabbit hole of a website.

matlab and autodesk both use flexera but they are seperate installs. Autodesk has ADSKFLEX.EXE and matlab does not. You will need to install the autodesk version of the license manager and setup a seperate service for the Autodesk license.

As you quoted the process you are looking at is for combining all autodesk products into one lincense file "To combine license files for Autodesk products into one license file" you cannot combine Autodesk licenses with other companies licenses and you cannot host autodesk licenses on anther version of LMTOOLS that was not built for Autodesk.

When I installed Autodesk, the installer recognized that Flexera was already installed. So, when I run Autodesk LMtools utility, I see the MatLab service already there. The documentation I quoted above says not to create a new service for Autodesk. Regardless, I have multiple serial numbers for product key 769G1, but I don't have a license file to combine them into, even if I install this as a different service or on a completely different server.

All of your Autodesk licenses should be on one license file. You don't want to create mutiple Autodesk license services but having seperate ones for different companies is expected.

@software_services

You can do exactly want you want.  I combine license managers and/or license files all the time.

If the license files are compatible, then you can combine them.  If not, then you can combine the license manager files, using a single updated lmgrd.exe with the vendor daemons copied into the same folder, and configure multiple services.  Either way, you can run one license manager for all of your products.  I *highly* recommend this to avoid multiple NLM versions and port conflicts, which can prevent you from launching your products.

For the best method to properly combine your license files, please read my entire thread here and choose the method that best fits your needs:

Good Luck!
