When loading an InfraWorks model that was created with Country Kits installed, and the user has no Country Kits installed, an error message appears: "The model requires additional content before it can be opened". There is a workaround to load the model even with no Country Kits installed: Open the model without installing a Country Kit for InfraWorks: Open the "model.files" folder. In the subfolder "unver", open the "ModelSettings.json" file. Search for "RequiredContentPacks": []. Remove the Country Kits from the file and save it. Note: The model can be opened now, but changing the "ModelSettings.json" file might impact the model, especially when synchronizing the model to ACC Docs." A user should not dig into JSON files and make edits there. An option or setting should be available to control whether the model can be loaded without Country Kits. Ideally this would be a full-fledge 'just as good as the component road', but even in the interrim; It 'should' be easy enough to just made a new button called component rail that calls up the same road command but with different defaults on it. If I'm 3 or 4 (or 30 or 40) proposals into a project and I decide to add something to the base, I need to add it to all proposals (or perhaps three fourths of them). This is time consuming and brain numbing and should be automated. In the right click menu, there should be an option to "Copy to proposal". This would then bring up a list of your proposals and you can select which ones the object(s) would be copied to. Show More

When the family of a girder or a tunnel is deleted (or doesn't sync right) then NOTHING shows up in the model. This means that you have nothing to select to change to a different family. Instead, it should show a default profile (maybe a string of IFX Cubes) that the users can then select to change to a family from. Show More

The ability to bring in position representations and view representations from Inventor into Infraworks. The users would also be able to state whether the positions are keyframes for an animation (which Infraworks then loops through). Taking a page from the Dynamo Studio folks, it would be a great idea if the community page for AIW had a list of useful scripts that can be used or loaded into AIW.  For example, if someone wrote a script for creating a full sun/shadow analysis that allowed you to see the time of day and display a heat map of sun hours on the model.  Then everyone using AIW can have access to download and load into their product to maximize the analytical aspects of the data in the model. In additional to support for the Oculus Rift, I would like to see support for the HTC VIVE. These are the 2 primary VR devices on the market at this time and it would be a shame if only the Oculus was supported by Infraworks as opposed to both. We use the VIVE compared to the Oculus due to the support for larger spaces with which to interact inside our created environments. We are beginning to use it more with Autodesk's Stingray and I have been very please with it so far, except for the fact that it is not supported in Infraworks. Show More

One of the first things new users comment on is how unintuitive the navigation tools are. Rather than try to please everyone, I recommend adopting what Fusion 360 has to allow users to select a format they're familiar with to start with as the controls and then further options to change some of the controls afterwards.
