Insert 3D Models from Navisworks nwd file to Infraworks

Insert 3D Models from Navisworks nwd file to Infraworks

the nwd files are much easier to manage because of size. I would recommend if you already have an IFC import or OBJ you can also do a NWD so We could make a federated model in Navisworks and then import it to Infraworks.

I completely agree with this. I compile a lot of information in Navisworks from different sources, and I will like to be able to grab the NWD file and imported straight into Infraworks.

Thanks

100% agree. FBX is too heavy.

@MohamedR.Nasreldeen@cmao_balfourbeattyus_com I am requesting for that feature to be implemented, it is not possible to do it at the moment. Vote for the idea so Autodesk works on implementing this. @ramesh_sridharan Do you know where we are at with this implementation?

it will be a great if it will be implemented

But It's possible! You can do it!

A trick:

Use the Revit file import via Cloud and select then all files. You could select newd and nwc files. That's it!

@Anonymous Great Trick!!! this solves the request/idea. @ramesh_sridharan maybe the only thing Autodesk need to do is change the name from Revit import to Revit/Navisworks import.

Thanks @Anonymous

Thanks alejandro and eric. I will check with team to make sure this is easy to find for users moving forward. Really appreciate your support and feedback.

It's better to include NWD in the dropdown with RVT together.

This workaround doesn't often respect geometry.

I was hoping to maintain an Infraworks and Navisworks federated master using the same nested NWD files as data sources. Unfortunately the NWD files in Infraworks are often ugly with geometry acting like DWG in Revit when distances are too great.

+1 for adding this functionality officially
