Hello, Ref. attached screen shot below, very often we need to model two moment plates, one passing through the column, one on top, with a shear plate. It will be a great if we have the macro. Despite of the many connections we have available for moment connections, one of the most used connection is not available. Regards, Ilko Dimitrov

As a new Advance Steel customer we wanted to setup our title blocks on drawing sheets. We understand and have used the OTB sample. The issue is that the we must use both the specific block name (HYPERSTEELPAGE HEADER) and token names for block attribute tags. If there was a cross reference table, I feel it would be very helpful and more flexible for us to use our existing title block of over 40 years. I also point out that if the title block did have our attributes we could import them into our PLM system and use the title blocks information to automatically complete the metadata for the PLM system.

We are using combined profiles for some foreign steelwork. Here we are missing the button "1+2" to choose both beams for changing them. It's only possible to change the "1" beam or the "2" beam. Please make it possible to change both beams with one click.

We are missing connections (Verbindungsmanager) for combined beams. All connections in the connection manager are not working for combined profils. We provide foreign markets with steelwork and they are often use combined profiles.

It would be great if there was a way to have information for a special part be inputted into the bill on a drawing. We had a job where we needed to add U-bolts into the assemblies and call them out in the bill and it was very time consuming to have to manually write them. I know of another program that has this capability and it would be helpful if Advance Steel could do the same. Thanks.

Hi, I would like to have templates saved in a tree structure. To be able to structure queries, groups, templates of connections etc., etc. into catagories, subcategories, subsubcategories etc. The tree structure is one of the simpliest and most beautiful gifts computers gave us....It is hardly used in AS. Also I would like to be able to save templates both with AS (to have them usable for all projects) or with the current project. There are other Ideas that also propose a finer tree structure for the documents of AS ..... br, Christian Blei

There is an option in Management Tools > Defaults > > Drawing Presentation > Colours. It allows you to Use colour ByLayer in arrangement drawings for Visible lines. In that way, you can set objects (like Concrete) to a layer using Model Role, and have them display using the ByLayer colour on the General Arrangement Drawing. However, I would like to see a similar option as this available for the linetype to go to the GA as ByLayer. That way it would be easier for people onsite to identify the non-steel elements they don't have to worry about, because using BYLAYER I have set the colour and linetype to make those elements different to my steel.

When creating a model view, the option in the management tools default, under layer assignment , should be present to set the model view element to be placed on suitable layer. Presently modelled on standard layer and have to change to a different layer, if required.

In the stringer elements, allow for stringer to be made from plate element, in addition to the standard flat section. So stair suppliers, profile from sheet of plate on profiler/laser. This is like the welded tapered beam, it has opitions for both types.

One last one for the day when you dimension using the advance steel labels and dimensions it would be nice to be able to change the odd extension line to a different line type like centreline? Even ga drawings is strange In regular AutoCAD you can simply hit the dimension right click properties and then have the option to change the continuous line to any other line type It does look strange when we dimension to the centre of an object with a solid line. i know you can set the dim style to show all ctr lines but that is not ideal as fellow detainers would probably agree thanks

Hi, somtimes we have to insert some additional informations in our details. For example text or lines for better understanding of the detail. These elements are not connected to the detail frame so you can't move the detail and the elements with one click. You have to select the elements and the frame before moving it. Please add an option to connect such additional elements to a detail frame. Greetings from Germany Joerg Seyffert

Hello, When generate a folded plate, the default radius of the fold relation is 2 times the plate thickness. The request would be to have the possibility to change or set a different multiplier for the default radius - 1 times the plate thickness or 3, as example Thank you very much Emy

WE do not have any connection that addresses PEB (Pre Engineered Building) Column to rafter junction. There are various types of these connection, few of them are as follows. 1) Horizontal Knee connection 2) Vertical Knee connection 3) Perpendicular Knee connection 4) Bisecting knee connection The principle remains same for all thees types, only they have slight geometrical differences.

Hi, I get a lot of complaining from workshop about making drawings with shortenings, because it makes verification of dimensions impossible for them. So i thought that great would be situation when after exploding a drawing with shortened details, on the model would be created a copy of all the details but without shortenings. With that I could still make drawings with shortenings and workshop could verify whatever dimension they want from the model. Best regards Robert Nowak

Hi, i want to see some improvements in the way connection boxes work. delete multiple connections from a group and placed them in a separate group must go in one single command. you simply select the connections that shoult go in a separate group. Now they all have to trown out one by one and all back,one by one in a new group. If you have selected a connection box, the rest of the connection boxes in the same group should lit up. so you easy see the way they are related.

Add the model role girt to default install , this is the typically reference for a cold rolled rail in the USA, Australia . Also add to relative model objects inside drawing styles for relative countries. link to required macros, like se purlin, used to insert purlins. , rails (girts)

Hi, right now the templates of joints are stored in one table- after some time this table cannot be handled anymore. It would be better to save the templates using a tree structure that the user can define freely. Only the entries of the node selected should be visible in the table. This way the user can create themes and subthemes and subsubthemes etc. and create his own structure of subtypes of a joint type. BR, Christian Blei
