It would be great if there was a way to have information for a special part be inputted into the bill on a drawing. We had a job where we needed to add U-bolts into the assemblies and call them out in the bill and it was very time consuming to have to manually write them. I know of another program that has this capability and it would be helpful if Advance Steel could do the same.

However, is there a way to have the special part name known so it will not come into the bill as "Special Part"? As I said, we had to make U-Bolts and they needed to be called out in a specific way.
The name of the special is the one you entered in the Free Remark of the properties (in my case, I named it "special part").
Or you change the naming item of specialparts in the mangement tools, but this is better to ask in the forum not here. Or much better: we talk to this to our customers in our trainings 😃
With U bolts you certainly mean bolts with wedge washers. Nevertheless, the wedge washers already exist in the database. Generate in the management tool a new set in your bolt norm, e.g., NaWWU and paste these washers.
I'm not just talking about U-bolts, but any special part in general that you may create. I was using the U-bolts as an example. See below picture for the u-bolt.
