When you have loaded a file with XREF objects, and forgot to set the right presets regarding how to handle tracks and modifiers, you are not able to change the presets. It's very frustrating, if you've set up a scene using a ton of xref objects, and then find out, you had to use the "local" for tracks, and then you can't change the "import" settings. I did a workaround by changing the controllers of all the xref objects to "PRS", instead of XREF manually afterwards, but each time I create new objects in the xref object file, and update, then their controllers also have to be changed. Why can't you just change the "import" presets later on, if you want to? The more I try to comment the more I realize the entire thing needs an overhaul. Essentially, I want integer/slider controls for several maps or materials at once. This would require a much more detailed node-based editor. For instance, if I want to control the size of a material on an object I need to modify the size of several bitmaps at the same time, or modify scale via the mapping of an object. There are several instances when this would be better to do in the slate editor. For instance, if I'm dealing with several AOE maps, I might want to control their scale or reflectivity at the same time, while ignoring the rest of the maps. It's also better if textures stay real world scale- as such, if I can provide the exact scale of the texture without having to resize the mapping, this makes this texture a lot more useful on multiple surfaces. It's much easier to do this if I can manipulate several textures in the material editor. Finally, if the mapping is clean, its just easier to deal with scale in the material editor than outside of it.

is there any possible way that autodesk will develop tools set in 3ds max to create coustum HDRI Ex. create, export, import, Edit, For those who do the product rendering it is very useful for them. waiting for your reply.

When working in Grid mode, every created object gets aligned to the activated Grid. Except for Groups, when Groups get created in Grid mode, they get aligned to World Coordinate System. Like this, the created Group's Local Coordinate System has no meaning relative to the objects which it contains. Using Local Coordinate System is useful in some cases, it would be nice if creating Groups this way, their Local Coordinate System would be aligned with the Working Grid. Only way I could achieve this is to create the objects in World Coordinate System, Group them, and then align the created group to the Working Grid, but this is not very efficient. Or I always have to activate the needed Working Grid, and move the group around in Reference Coordinate System, if I want to imitate the Group's own cordinate system. It would be useful and logical for Groups to have this feature!

Only selected points are moved when using the mobile tool.When using, you often need to click hide unselected or unhide all.You want to add a point that simply moves the selection.This will greatly improve the efficiency of the work.My English is not good to use software translation, I do not know if you can understand. .

In many cases, multiple UV channels are used for a multitude of reasons. xView Overlapped UV Faces is a great tol, but not necessarily helpful as the most important overlaping risk, especially for game art, is hidden in UV Channel 2, typically used for lightmaps etc. Provide a choice of which UV channel to check.

Posting here to see if it's a bug or someone can point to a solution. I have the Command Panel detached from the main Window. Just mentioning as it might be relevant. So what happens is when I'm handling a large quantity of object and all of those will be Editable Polys, the position of each RollOut menus are not usually consistent. For example, for some reason sometimes Edit Polygon, Edit Geometry or Polygon: Smoothing Groups will be on different places or colapsed depending on the object I have selected and I myself haven't changed them. I completely defeats the muscle memory as I'm reaching for a buttons that constantly changing places and which I don't have hotkeys for them.

When ever we operate 3ds max command panel is the most important part part to operate it. When ever we use a modifier or any other option in the command panel when we scroll down if there is an option in between , it gets automatically scrolled and the values get changed. It also happend on any pop windows that opens. For example - If someone is changing the render setting If we scroll down the filters when we are scrolling it will automatically select the filters option an insted of scrolling down all the options it starts changing the filters. So please look into that.

Здравствуйте! Это уже моя третья идея по программе и она как бы является дополнением к первой ... В общем ... добавьте функцию, в которой при нажатии кнопкой мыши на грань текстуры появляется окно, в котором можно зарисовать эту текстуру в 2d, при том что можно одновременно смотреть ее в 3d формате. Пусть, например, там будет стандартный, достаточно простой интерфейс, как во многих программах ... Эту идею, наверняка, еще стоит дорабатывать, но я надеюсь, что смысл вы поняли.

Здравствуйте!Коротко, добавьте виды передвижения камеры моделирования в 3ds max. Ведь при наведения камеры на определенное место возникает много проблем, и можно было бы сделать несколько вариантов передвижения камеры, например, можно было бы добавить камеру, как в игре crossout, с передвижением с помощью кнопок мыши (только пусть движение будет происходить в сторону определенной оси, то есть строго по выбранной оси, как с передвижением фигур, или как там, но с тем движением в игре так же возникают проблемы (пусть это будет отдельные виды передвижения))... эти виды камер для удобства можно было бы активировать с помощью выбранной горячей клавишей. Жду ответов и оценки моей идеи!

Since most of the companies in the 3d printing industry uses 3ds max mainly to create 3d printable models. I would suggest that the shell feature in 3ds max is refined to a level where artists do not have to manually fix the corners. In most cases I end up taking the model into either zbrush or Materialize Magics to get the desired output which slows down production time.
