Installing Autocad Revit on top of Autocad Architecture

I am not an Autocad user and don't a thing about it, i.e. what are the differences between the different versions. Now to the question:

I have a user who had purchased Autocad Architecture suite 2010. I installed the software on the user's PC a few weeks ago. Now the user has bought AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite 2010, and wants this installed on his PC. I did the Revit install on several other PCs and it looks to me that it is the same as the original he purchased. The license keys are different for both these products. The Revit suite seems to install in the same program folder as the architecture suite. Do I need to install the Revit software on this PC or just update the license key. If I update the license key, will break any features in the original suite?

thanks

AutoCAD Architecture 2010 and Revit 2010 are two different products. However, the Revit Architecture Suite 2010 contains both Revit and Architecture. If you have stand-alone activations, installing just the Revit Suite will be good enough. The only difference between the network versions is how the application will grab an available network license from its unique license feature code.

I believe you installed AutoCAD Architecture 2009 with the first product reference. The second reference is for a suite called AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite 2009 which includes AutoCAD Architecture 2009.

The answer really depends on the circumstances of the licensing and the user's needs. But the best practice would be to uninstall AutoCAD Architecture 2009. Then install and activate the Suite products.
