Using Built-In Parameters in Schedules and Tags

Using Built-In Parameters in Schedules and Tags

At my company, one of the most consistently annoying hurdles that we have to deal with are Built-In Parameters. The fact that Built-In Parameters like "Short Circuit Rating" in Electrical Equipment are not schedule-able and cannot be used in Tags has caused us to create extra parameters that have all of the same characteristics as the built-in parameters, but either feed their value from the built-in param or are used entirely separately from it. Not only does this cause unnecessary confusion and chaos on work shared projects with regard to the correct parameter to use, but it also causes unnecessary bulk in our Revit Model. Please either add the ability to purge unused Built-In Parameters, or allow the ability to schedule out and use these parameters in tags.

                         Thank You,

                                 James Kerfoot

Hopefully, they'll just give us everything: make ALL parameters schedule-able and filter-able

Agreed. Why you can't schedule and tag all possible fields, built in or custom is beyond me. I'm starting to ultimately only use schedules to input data because it's much faster but not having some parameters schedulable is frustrating.

@Anonymous - If a panel schedule can pull the built-in parameters from electrical equipment it would be beneficial if an electrical equipment tag had that ability.

This is a new feature in Revit 2024
