The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) BIM Standards committee recently created a list of Autodesk Revit enhancement and feature requests based on a membership survey. We have shared a prioritized list with Autodesk and are posting them here, on Revit Ideas, to build community support to benefit the lighting design industry.

Description:
The Omniclass Table 23 must be updated to incorporate a comprehensive luminaire, light emitter (or light source), and control equipment classification. Due to the advent of lighting-emitting diodes (LEDs) replacing conventional light sources, new classification structure is necessary for the items of Luminaire, Lamps, and Control equipment items, presently all under class "23-35 47........". A task force of lighting professionals should be elected to present a proposal to CSI Omniclass on this subject, following the rules established in the 2010-06-24 review. We believe that it is time to update again the terms and structurers of CSI Omniclass Table 23 (see Autodesk OmniClass_23_2012-05-16.xls @TransitionMatrix folder). A new classification is required to the lighting category under Ominiclass "23-35 47 11 ..." Electrical Lighting / Lighting Fixtures and "23-35 47 23 ..." Electrical Light / Lamps. The term "lamp" is now being replaced with "electric light source" according to term 17-27-004 of ILV - International Lighting Vocabulary CIE S 017:2020
