I would love to see some sort of color coding in the project browser to make it easy to quickly differentiate between sheets, floor plans, families, etc.
A simple color blocking behind the texts could be of benefit.
It would be great to be able to associate colors with various elements of the project browser ie sheets in red, schedules green etc. In big projects using the project browser can be difficult and much of it looks the same.
There must be a mroe graphic way of navigating between sheets, views, packages etc.
This is a good one - why not allow color formatting in the project browser - allowing for easy navigation in complex projects that have many many views and sheets etc.
I've been working with Revit since a couple of weeks but i am part of a huge engineering team.
Sometime i find difficult to browse through the Project Browser and find the exact view i am looking for.
So i have a suggestion. I think it would be really cool if we could add a colored icon, or even change text color to match the discipine the view is mainly showing. That way for example, if i am looking for a view concerning Fire Protection, i could easily be looking for pink in my project browser and find it quickly. Maybe also a search or filter in project browser could be cool too. This option doesn't have to be automated because sometime we want more than one discipline in the view, but the user who make the view might have the intention to use this view only for one discipline (for plans), and for that case, colors would be applied by the user with the color code used in the project.
I hope my idea is clear enough to be understood, and since i am new with Revit i hope my comment can be helpful for developpement.
Up to me it would be great to be able to customize/change background color of project browser PER GROUP (for instance Views=blue, Legends=red, Schedules=Green, Sheets=yellow and so on). Customizing letter types and size would be also very nice. It will give user rapid feeling where he is by very fast scrolling of the project browser.
Coloring the names in the project browser for views, sheets, links, etc. Large scale projects could really benefit from this. Wont really do anything except make it easier for the eye to discern. Maybe I want to make my plan sheets show up red in the project browser and section sheets blue. Or maybe we have working plans and plans for sheets be different colors. I think there are many organizational benefits from this. when we have almost 300 sheets, with 80 plan views, I think it would make it a little quicker to find things with just scrolling. When we have to change our standards for a client, coloring the project browser could help us adapt faster too.
Whilst at it, it would help me a great deal if views that are already dropped onto some sheet were coloured differently or otherwise marked. Right click and see whether jump to sheet is greyed out or not is tedious.
Colored Tabs to distinct different projects opened already in the view area. Especially if using 2 or more monitors. It will separate 3d views from one another.
color the drawing name and title in project browser that - would such a great organizational tool for revit drawings, to say mark off whats been done etc where you leave off - just over all would be great for many things.
I know color coding for the Project Browser isn't a new request, however, I have not specifically read anywhere that would enable functionality to self select colors for each of the project browser items.
Ideally when hovering over an item in the project browser the right mouse click would then provide an additional item to 'highlight colour'
Like others here I would find this very helpful when working in large projects, not only would this allow us to colour code different floors and levels we could also highlight each sheet/item that requires additional info, ie select pink or red highlight for the project browser item which would then tell others that this item needs to be completed.
Anyway I though I would throw it out there as a simple change like this I would think would be a pretty easy alteration.
I would vote for this, but I feel the project browser needs a more fundamental overhaul than just colour coding. There have been a number of other ideas covering some good ways this could happen. At he moment the Project Browser is just too unwieldy, and I don't think colour coding would make enough difference to warrant distracting from coming up with something much better.
It would be very helpful for me in the Project Browser to put the possibility of assigning different colors to the text in Projetct Browser. (similar like in Photoshop layers)project browser
A small step would be to allow the user to italicize views on sheets, or have a "soft" indent for views on a sheet. We would rather not modify our current PB organization. (other than this option which would be great!)
this is very very very simple autodesk --- add in color in the project browser so for an example level one - right click the name level one it has an option to highlight this to say the color of your choice red so when i go looking for another view i can also color this view RED. so we dont loose track of the drawings we are working on 🙂
COLOR COLOR COLOR in the project broswer PLEASE !!!!
So auto desk I have gotten about 25 comments from revit users all loving my idea i think u can do this add colour to the drawing with either highlighting the name or using a circle beside the name that is editable so we can find our drawing quickly 🙂
My original Message is this
