Increase performance for dimensions

Increase performance for dimensions

Sorry in advance; this isn't really an idea but rather a sincere request.

But I noticed a lot of performance drops when working with dimensions that grab onto 15+ items.

Simply dragging the dimension almost grinds revit to a halt.

Moving around the tag head of a multi-rebar tag of a 100 item tag takes 5-10+ seconds to update and a lot longer to apply.

This really digs into my enjoyment of the software and I really wonder if every operation on a dimension really has to take so many resources.

I can imagine that a lot of resources are used to keep every constraint in check. But does this have to run while working on the graphical aspect of a dimension?
It shouldn't really impact performance that much if you're just moving a dimension or taghead right?

@GertjanvandenbroekVKAESimilar issue occurs quite often for me in Autocad. When you have a very big project, with many many objects displayed on screen, the display tends to freeze because the graphic card hogs up momentarily. It's not a program issue, it's simple a display issue (rather a screen refresh issue). What works for me is to turn off all elements i don't need (architectural, mep, dimensions, etc). If you have many many rebars displayed on screen, you could organize them in partitions and turn off/hide some partitions (rebars you don't need for a specific task like tagging).
