Hide in all views

Hide in all views

It would be extremely useful if there was a "hide in all views" type tool. Especially on larger projects with many views. if there is something I want to hide(or even temporary hide), it would make the process much more efficient. One could simply "select all" the item they chose, then "hide in all views". A process that could normally take a lot of time, reduced to two simple steps.

This could apply to detail groups, 2d elements, specific line/text types (used for internal markup of drawings), etc.

You should be able to hide anything in all views. Plain and simple.

This could certainly be coded in Dynamo, but I use the "Hide in Views" tool in the CADdaddy suite for Revit. Not a financial partner, just a very satisfied customer.

Good idea for a built in function.

Sounds like @bill_gilliss 's got it nailed for those who can pick up a new tool.

Currently if the end user is trying to hide an element or category, it is possible to do it in one view at a time. We need a new simple feature - right-click hide element or category in all views. This is especially useful to hide non-model elements such as scope boxes.

Try the “hide in views” feature within CADdaddy Tools at the Autodesk addin store. Free.

@Anonymous: Maybe not in ALL views, but at least in the views owned by the user. You would need to assign the views to a workset that you own.

@CADdaddy.com I'm not seeing a 2022 or 2023 version...  any chance those will be coming soon?

I'd like to ask Autodesk to add to Revit a function where you can hide/unhide elements in all views similar to the CadDaddy add-on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EIMUH7BL-Q

I use it in all projects and it is a valuable timesaver. Problem is that I cannot seem to get it to work in Revit 2027. Worked fine until 2027 where Autodesk changed the addins directory from ProgramData to ProgramFiles.
