AutoCAD 2008 broken licences

Anonymous

Hi,

We now have two machines running XP and AutoCAD 2008 that stops working. And needs reactivation.

Only reactivation is not possible. I tryed askinf autocad to sign new code's but also not working. For a longer period of

8 days.

First it was 1 machine now it is second machine. The advice i got is reinstalling the machine total form scratch.

But i have the feeling that this is not a solution. I'm trying it now out, but how can i happen that a valid licence comes not usable on two separat machines.

Thxs.

This is an old known error that affects Autodesk 2006-2009 products on SATA hard drives.  Make sure that you have installed this hotfix:

I have an Autocad 2009 license that stopped working today.

It said the license is broken.

The fix link posted before is not working anymore.

Could somebody post a new link?

Thanks!

Thanks for the updated link.

However, there is no file for the link

Could you provide a link to the file?

Thanks.

There's nothing we as users can do about a bad link in an Autodesk article.  You will have to use the YES/NO option at the bottom regarding if this article was helpful or not..  Remember you're talking about a 4 year old article and locations or links to programs may no longer exist.

I don't understand the question?  The file is properly linked.  What are you needing?

Its a little confusing (the article)..  The readme states to download the correct registry change but the link just shows the change you need to make in the registry..  At first I wasn't paying attention to that and I thought it was an error related to downloading the file.   Now I see the link is just giving you the location and the value of the registry you have to change.

Dear Sir,

Recently I have transfer the auto cad lt 2008 licence file to my new computer surface laptop - window 10 - but today I realized that the software indicate the licence file broken.

I have try you link and it successfully change the register value but the auto cad software still show licence file broken.

Any solution for this.

Thanks

Welcome to the Autodesk community.

As of Aug 31 2019, product version 2010 and earlier can no longer be activated.  In addition, licensing gets broken on Win 10 updates and using your version on an unsupported OS.   Do you still have it running on the old machine?

Hello,

I have the same problem with a working license that is suddenly "broken". The original license agreement for the software states that my software license is valid "perpetually".

Should I understand this issue as Autodesk is not letting me use it "perpetually" anyway?

Regarding your answers to point 3:

Mine stopped working out of the blue...it appears that the activation was only valid for 6 months (I transferred from my old PC), and now I am stuck, because the license is "broken". Cannot export a license more than once of course.

Regarding your answers to point 1 and 2:

I payed top dollar ($6000 in 2008) for it - a so called "perpetual license". And I only want to exercise my rights to use one license. Why punish the paying customers for other peoples behaviour in terms of using cracked software?
