Share files between two computers

I want to know if either Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Drive, or any other cloud sync system exists that would allow me to work on one machine (desktop in my case) hit save then those files auto update files on another machine (laptop) and that back and fourth operation happens auto magically. I have tried Onedrive and it sometimes "eats" inventor files as it doesnt like some extensions, so thats out of the question. I also use Advance Steel, so it will need to sync those files too.

Any help is appreciated!

I've used Dropbox for this sort of set Dropbox aswell so any changes to any of those files automatically roll out to my other machine.

I tried Onedirive once but it was very slow in comparison.

With OneDrive, have you tried changing the sync schedule so that it is not continuous but rather happens at a particular time?  My guess is that when you have the file open, the sync functionality might be corrupting the file.  You can do this with Task Scheduler.

Hi! The best PDM system working with Inventor is Vault. Any other solutions may not be much different than you copy and paste the files from one machine to another. The network speed, harddrive speed, and security can come into play.

Many thanks!

I haven't, never got to that point. For some reason when I would try to do an initial dump of files to use between  devices, it would just fail to upload certain file types. I stopped pursuing one drive when that happened, maybe worth another shot?

All sync should be done after IV close.

Never try to sync while working in IV.

When IV save a file, it create a new file.

Rename the old file, move it to OldVersion.

Rename the new file.

Sync will block one of them and save will fail.
