Maya 2016 says Student version when saving project when I payed 238:- Euro

Hello.

I have bought a Maya license and have several problems.

First of all I wanted the license for Maya 2017 and not 2016
Unfortunately my license only works with Maya 2016 so I had to download and install Maya 2016 when I already have Maya 2017 where the trial time has run out 2 days before buying the license.

Now that I am using Maya 2016 instead of Maya 2017 I encounter the next problem which you can see on my screenshot.
Why does it say that it is a Student version while saving my maya project files when I paid 238.- Euro for my license?

Thank you for your help,
Claudio Ravenstein.

Well, two questions need to be answered to find out why you are getting edu watermarks:

1.  Did you ever have the educational version installed?

2.  Are you using any works, created by yourself, or by others (even downloaded online) that were ever created by or used in an educational version?

Any part of any file that gets touched by the educational version gets marked this way.

Thank you Otto and Travis.

Otto:
Maybe it's a Apple Mac issue, your links to the help pages are for Microsoft Windows only and I will look if I find something on Apple about this. Also I am not looking for an older version of Maya I intended to download the license for Maya 2017 which my trial ended 2 days before my purchase.

Travis:
1. No! I never had a student version of Maya installed on my MacBook Pro. As I already mentioned I was running the free trial version of Maya 2017
2. No! I was never running any files created by a student license Maya.

For 200.- euro (238.- inclusive taxes) I downloaded the one month Maya license directly from the Autodesc Maya site and have now a license for Maya 2016 when I have Maya 2017 installed.
To top it up I become a warning sign when saving my project that my file was created by a student license file after I mad sure I created a new project.
I also noticed that Mental Ray is missing and the only render engine is the Maya one.

I just hope that after I send in my prove of purchase to Autodesk Maya support they can help me to get my Maya 2017 license with the Arnold render engine which worked nicely before.

Thank you both for your feedback and for trying to help. I really appreciate it
