Autodesk Desktop App - Proxy

Hi,

Sorry if I've put this under the wrong category but the Autodesk Desktop App is'nt showing me any updates and is requesting that I enter my proxy username and password even though my proxy settings are set to 'automatically detect settings'. Could you help me to fix this problem so I can see any updates that need to be applied?

Many thanks,
Gareth

Though I highly recommend uninstalling the uselessly annoying Autodesk Desktop App, if you want to fix the proxy settings, here are the list of sites that you need to put in your exceptions for whatever secures your internet.  This could be either some local firewall or internet security software, or it could be an appliance on your network that IT needs to allow thru:

Good Luck!

Hi Travis,

Thanks for replying. I've already came across that thread when using google to search for the problem and tried the exceptions but was unsuccesful in fixing the problem. I was hoping that one of the hotfixes would solve another problem that I'm experiencing in AutoCAD (within my duct database). Do you have any other ideas that could help me resolve this issue?

Many thanks,

Gareth

You might be able to download the update directly from your https://accounts.autodesk.com profile or from the AutoCAD downloads page:

Which update were you wanting?

I was looking an update for AutoCAD 2017 or Fabrication CADmep 2017. When I choose to cut a hole in the side or top of the duct it will automatically make a round hole (which is fine) but when I change the hole to square or rectangular it automatically puts the square or rectuanglar hole on the bottom of the duct and removes the 'Hole Side' option within the options tab so you cant change it back.

There's not a lot of hotfixes yet, but you can try the ones posted in the previous link I sent you to see if they might help out.

I'll download AutoCAD 2017 on my home PC and try the updates as I dont want to cause any more problems with my work drawings.

I've attached a photo of the error message that pops up for the desktop app. Do you know what I need to type into the username and password fields to allow me to see the updates?

Many thanks,
