How to automate the installation of a Deployment?

We have the case of updating the product versions year after year for our clients and the issue of updating to the most recent version and eliminating the previous one.
When it comes to small companies, it is easy but it is not so when it comes to more than 50 equipments, it is time consuming and demanding.

I approach with you to make suggestions or processes that are necessary. For this it is important to mention that I have consulted the best practices of deployments and deployments for single user and network in the pages of Knowledge Network but maybe I could omit something.

I am interested to know if I can apply some command in Windows using the .EXE of the Autodesk product installer with some scrip or directly and through a console like the Autodesk Desktop App send the installation.
Explain to the IT team of the organizations what parameters for the installation and to be able to do this also remotely (if possible).

Maybe something like Sysprep from Microsoft

https://msdn.microsoft.com/es-es/library/windows/hardware/dn938334(v=vs.85).aspx

I hope you can guide me.
Thank you

I guess I don't quite follow what you want to do.

Create the network deployment on the server share so it is preconfigured for install.  Then you can just run the shortcut installer via a login script if you choose.

Hi Travis,

If youre asking yes, I am looking to install automated the instalation on the computers in any way possible, without having to be doing the installation manually (following besta practices), such as running an installation rule when starting the computer. Sometimes there are 400 equipment (pc or laptop), imagine how much time the IT team consumes and this every time it is required to make changes in the users or teams.

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome. You have more than one option when it comes to distributing Autodesk software to your users. I have listed some basic ones below:

Depending on what you are trying to accomplish you may want to create a deployment  (it can be created via the installer) for the application/s & place it on a network share location for other users to access.

Or you can set up a network share folder & place the installation media files (located in C:\Autodesk\Application) there and allowing access permissions to this folder to install the application/s. These media files are only available in a "Browser Download" and "Download Now".

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi @natasha.l,

Sounds like I need to do this everytime 400 times with the things you coment.

What I really looking forward to do is when I start one of these 400 computers run the deployment and later on active wih the serial number and product key, for stand alone, and in the other hand the same thing but for a network licence installation ¿can this be possible?

This is and very old example with Windows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNWo-WjxChw

Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous,

The best option out of the two then would be to use an Autodesk deployment, depending on the license type you have, seats for each license & version you can create a separate deployment (step #7).

Ex. ONE Deployment for - Network License AutoCAD 2019 30 seats.

A third option i did not mention, if you're IT uses Microsoft SCCM to deploy software they may op to do that to deploy Autodesk deployment packages.
