Error 1603

Hello Everyone!

I'm trying to install 3d studio max for some time, and i cant find anything else to try (filenamesize registry key, turned off uac, turned off firewall, turned off anti malware, run in admin, uninstalled vcredist, installed them manually, or let installer install them, download standalone installer, changes setup.ini prerequisites, deleted temp folder).

I attached my log file, hope somebody have some other tips or anything that could help because i dont know what else i can do.

Sincerely,

Ákos

Welcome to the community...

DId you download the application using the Autodesk Virtual Agent?  If not go to the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.  Download all of the parts first and then go to your download location.  Extract (double click) part 1 and in a few seconds the extraction will start.   It will then prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk and once the extraction is finished the installation will start. Also make sure you have admin rights, UAC is turned off and Anti-Virus temporary disabled.

Thanks for the fast answer.

I tried downloading via Autodesk Virtual Agent and installing with the given circumstances (uac, antivir...) but unfortunately the result was the same as before, installation failed with 1603.

Just as a test, try to install from the C:\ drive instead of from the S:\ drive.

The 3DS Max generic 1603 error has been a thorn in my side for years and Autodesk even ignores my requests to pow-wow on this issue.  So if you do find a solution, that doesn't involve reinstalling Windows, do share.

Thanks.
