Clock Error

The following Clock Error message appears when the AutoCAD 2018 trial version starts: check that your system clock is set to the current date and time before you try again

Even though the system clock is correct AutoCAD 2018 trial version gives an internal error and shuts down

I suspect that your clock is either in the wrong time zone, or you are not correctly set for Daylight Saving Time.  Verify those settings or you won't be able to connect.  You should also be connecting to an internet time server to ensure that it is always automatically set for you.

Hello @Anonymous,

The solution to this error:

Connection Error: This error can be caused by an inaccurate time on the system clock, or by temporary system unavailability.

  1. Verify that the date, time, time zone, and Daylight Saving Time settings are all correct for your current location.
  2. If they are correct, change each setting one at a time and apply the changes (OK).  Then restore the original setting and apply the changes again.
  3. Test each time to see if the software will launch successfully.
  4. In particular, try removing the checkmark from "Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time" and apply the change (OK). Then select "Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving time," and apply the change again.
Daylight Saving Time

Note: on a personal computers you may also need to synchronize your computer clock with an Internet time server, if your computer is on a domain, you can't synchronize your clock with an Internet time server.
  1. Open Date and Time by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Date and Time.
  2. Click the Internet Time tab, and then click Change settings. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Select the check box next to Synchronize with an Internet time server, select a time server, and then click OK.
  4. If you get the error "An error occurred while Windows was synchronizing with time-b.nist.gov", try changing the internet time server to time.windows.com.

I had this error for Inventor trial and my clock was wrong so I set it as shown.  But now it says the trial is no longer valid, download another.  So I did but same error.  Is there any way to fix this?

For windows 10:

The following worked for me:

go to settings > go to time and language > correct the timezone you are in > make sure you synchronize your clock. AutoCAD forum to fix time zone isssute.JPG

I have found a solution finally!
Guys, I've been 2 days facing this issue, I even installed a whole new windows and surprised by the same error!
I was going crazy...anyway nothing on the internet helped me, "Note that I faced this issue with Revit 24 software)

I just went to "Manually" change my year from 2023 to 2024 (Although it's 2023) and then Revit asked me finally to sign in, then it asked me to sign in via my browser, the page I was directed to didn't work ofc because the date is currently wrong, so I went back and switched it back to 2023, the page worked but revit gave me same clock issue, then I switched it back to 2024 and it didn't ask me to sign in again, and Revit then actually worked just fine, Even after I changed my date back to the correct one, revit kept working and all was good....
abstract: change your date year to one year after, then ask revit to let you sign in with you account, then quickly change back to the correct date just to load in your sign in info, then change the year again to one year after, finally open revit and load the interface and then change the date back to the correct status
