Can't Run A-desk .exe Files

I am putting this here because I had issues with install files earlier. Now it is an exe that comes with C3D: Autodesk.Aec.Content.CatalogEditor.exe I thought that was a CAD Manager group, but I guess no longer.

There is something wrong with Autodesk exe's in that they start but stop a few seconds later (you can watch it happen in Task manager).

From Windows Event Viewer, Application, there are four events being logged:

Information:

The Software Protection service has stopped.

Please advise. I need to be able to run A-desk exe's. Files from Autodesk are the only files I have ever experienced this with on this machine, or ever.

Civil 3D 2015 SP2

Windows 7 Enterprise SP1

THANKS

This is likely a problem with your Windows profile.  You might try logging in as another user and see if the software launches.  If so, you should rebuild your Windows profile for your login.

You may be right. I ran into this problem first when I installed the product, and somewhere along the line I somewhat corrupted my user profile. Not to the point that I cannot work, but I see things like Windows not remembering the default browser. I have never, in dozens of installs, had issues like I did with this version of C3D (Infrastructure Suite).

However, to solve *today's* problem, I did create a local profile, using my same login name, but prefixed with the local domain instead of network. No joy. I tried to log into the local account in Safe Mode, no. I tried disabling Eset AV and restarting, but that that didn't work either.

I will try creating an all new profile and report back.

thanks.

Nope.

I created a new, unique profile on the local domain and tried to run Autodesk.Aec.Content.CatalogEditor.exe and after two or three seconds it just dissappears, same as everything else I have tried.

I also looked into whether Windows was having trouble validating the digital signature, but disabling all that security made no difference.

The other thing I tried was both a MrFixtIt and a manual regedit to check on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exe and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile, but this didn't waork. And I didn't expect it to - it's only Autodesk exe's, not *every* exe that won't run. Everything else works fine.

I don't get it. I've never really ran into this (ever? I must have in all these years, but I don't remember a specific instance) where an exe runs for two seconds then kills - until I installed C3D/Infrastructure Suite. And now I'm seeing it again trying to run this exe provided as a utility in the installed package.

No clue.  Make sure you have local admin rights, UAC off, and anti-virus disabled.  It's odd that it is only the Autodesk files with the issue.

yes, it is bizarre. I can't recall a definite time I have had this happen before, Autodesk or anything. I've tried all of those things, nothing worked. I am getting a new machine soon, I'm hoping a fresh install on a fully capable machine (what I am using is just barely) will go well.

I am having the exact same problem.  the Autodesk.Aec.Content.CatalogEditor.exe worked just fine in my 2014 and 2015.  I could just click on it and it opened up.  Now it immediately goes to, "Program stopped working... Check interent for solution" then it just shuts down.

I am completely lost.  How can AutoCAD completely lose the ability to use the Catalog editor....  Do I need to reinstall 2014???  Is it a pathing issue?  What other files could I use to open a SQLite file or the CatalogEditor.exe???  All i needed to do was relabel an inside pipe editor to print a send of plans hahaha.  This is rough!!
