Missing Part Cube Scaled to bounded box dimensions of missing part

Provides the box an appropriate scale to capture user attention.   Hunting for the cubes is a pain… less necessary if we could just make a certain family 'obsolete' so it doesn't show up instead of deleting it. Show More

Override Infraworks driven parameter

Ability to override a parameter being driven by Infraworks (eg. Girder web height). This would show up in Infraworks with RED as a value and deleting/clearing off value returns to driven value (Eg. Similar to Inventor BOM overrides). There's the odd situation where this is required so that users can make a quick change without having to publish a new part that has an override built in. Map Inventor position reps and view reps

The ability to bring in position representations and view representations from Inventor into Infraworks. The users would also be able to state whether the positions are keyframes for an animation (which Infraworks then loops through). Very easy way for users to be able to add animated components as they require, especially if the keyframes can be used to control the animations. Show More

Provide means to add their own names to 'generic components'

Rather than having a 'cross-brace' and 'splice' and 'diaphragm'.... have a 'single-profile or multi-profile' component; leave it at that. Even better, provide the option to create their own type of Single-Profile/ Multi-Profile entities and get them their own names/ information onto Show More

Allow deleting manually created extend feature in Edit Extend Schema in InfraWorks

Once extend feature in Extend Schema editor is created, InfraWorks inform users that "Extend schema will be saved and cannot be changed after model reload." Consider allowing deletion of manually created extend features in case users made a mistake or don't want to have it in the model anymore. Show More

Support for HTC VIVE

In additional to support for the Oculus Rift, I would like to see support for the HTC VIVE. These are the 2 primary VR devices on the market at this time and it would be a shame if only the Oculus was supported by Infraworks as opposed to both. We use the VIVE compared to the Oculus due to the support for larger spaces with which to interact inside our created environments. We are beginning to use it more with Autodesk's Stingray and I have been very please with it so far, except for the fact that it is not supported in Infraworks. Show More

Why Can't Proposals be Renamed?

Please develop a feature where proposals can be renamed - insane we have to create an entirely new proposal copy and delete the old one to rename. Huge roadblock to workflow, especially for computers with lacking specs. Show More

Resolve Texture issues

The importing of textures into Infraworks is buggy and kind of garbage. Make this ability more simple and robust and users will be able to make prettier models.   Ideally, the materials for multiple software would all be cloud shared and distributed so that I don't have to import from one to other and Inventor/Revit/Civil3D/Infraworks can all look at a common set of material/appearance libraries. Insert 3D Models from Navisworks nwd file to Infraworks

the nwd files are much easier to manage because of size. I would recommend if you already have an IFC import or OBJ you can also do a NWD so We could make a federated model in Navisworks and then import it to Infraworks.   Show More

Editable 3D text object

We would like to see an TEXT object which is editable, it could work like the thinkercad. With the option that the object could rotate automaticly towards to the camera. With this function we could create better storyboards and visualizations. (Like this one , but it comes from thickercad not editable and I have to rotate it manualy) Show More

Join roads to create single object

I would like to see an option to join multiple roads together to create single road objects in Infraworks.  As far as I can find, two roads can be visually joined end to end to create what appears to be a single road in the model, but the two pieces will remain separate objects in the database and in the behavior of the drawing.     I would like an option to join the two roads together so it becomes one single road instead of remaining two separate objects.   It would allow for design restrictions where you may need to meet requirements for connection point or angle of connection at both ends and allow you to design toward the middle from the connecting points on both sides.     Would also allow you to then drag and drop to change the style for the entire road at once instead of repeating the process for each segment.     Roads that are generated by model builder as separate entities could to be "cleaned up" and combined to create single roads where they should be one continuous piece.   Thanks Show More

Infrastructure Parts Editor for Traffic signs

My idea is, open way to elaborate and to use the "Infrastructure parts" to design vertical Signs. We have difficult to implementation BIM for sign. If we had a way of loading this signage database for each project and we could have the ability to indicate the variation of the height of your pole with the slope of the terrain. Terrain Statistics (cut and fill) for imported Grading Areas

When importing shape areas as a Grading feature, it is not possible to get Cut&Fill volumes in the Terrain Statistics for them. The idea is to enable full Terrain Statistics for any imported Grading area (plus Coverage Area).  Show More

Provide better navigation controls

One of the first things new users comment on is how unintuitive the navigation tools are. Rather than try to please everyone, I recommend adopting what Fusion 360 has to allow users to select a format they're familiar with to start with as the controls and then further options to change some of the controls afterwards. Global Work Points

Ability to create named work points in Infraworks that would be at a specific geolocation position. This named work-point would then be able to override the position of any Inventor Model work-point named with the same name (or appropriate prepending). Show More
